Durham, ME – After a long and cold Northeast winter, Evan Beaulieu and the Beaulieu Racing team are ready to get the #56 Hancock Lumber Chevrolet back on track for the 2015 racing season to get under way. This season, the team will be getting started early as they hit the track for the first time this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway for the Pro All Stars Series North season opener, the AIM Recycling and Kenny U-Pull 150. The event will feature both the PASS North Series and the American Canadian Tour, two of the most popular short track racing tours in the country, together for the first time ever. PASS And ACT Prepare For Historic Doubleheader At Oxford Plains Speedway
NAPLES, ME (April 9) – What once seemed like an impossibility will be a reality in in just over a week when the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models and American Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models race on the same weekend at the same race track for the first time in history. On Saturday, April 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway, the Northeast’s two premier stock car sanctioning bodies will kick off their 2015 season with Twin 150 lappers. New series sponsors, AIM Recycling and Kenny U-Pull will present the PASS portion of the history making event, while Dave’s Small Engine Repair and Walker Mowers sponsor the ACT Late Model race.
Hudson, NH’s Joey Polewarczyk is the defending ACT Late Model champion, but has raced extensively throughout his career in Super Late Models. Polewarczyk most recently drove a PASS Super Late Model in last year’s Mason Dixon Meltdown. “Joey Pole” as he is known throughout the racing fraternity, along with Maine’s Travis Stearns, plan to compete in both the PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Model Presented By Kenny U-Pull feature and the ACT Late Model race. Waterbury, VT – One of the biggest seasons in American-Canadian Tour (ACT) history launches on Saturday, April 18 as part of the first ever doubleheader between the ACT Late Model stock cars and the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models. More than 70 combined cars are expected at the Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME, and multiple ACT drivers will attempt to run both 150-lap events that afternoon.
Defending ACT Tour Champion Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, NH leads the drivers looking to complete all 300 laps of feature racing on the 3/8th-mile oval. “Joey Pole” said that he and his team wanted to attempt the doubleheader as soon as they learned that it was on the schedule. (more…)
The 2013 PASS North Champion, Travis Benjamin of Morrill, Maine is gearing up for the PASS season opener at Oxford Plains Speedway, on April 18th. “My crew and I are really excited to get the 2015 season started at Oxford. Yes we have our car 95% done just need to put a set up in it.”
Travis has kept busy over the winter, “In the off season just working at Belfast Variety, playing some basketball and getting the go karts and car ready for the summer.”
Travis will be busy this season, “The plans for the Benjamin Motorsports race team this summer, is to run most if not all of the PASS Series we will also try to defend our title at the Re/Max 250 and we will be racing go karts as much as possible as well.”
Waterbury, VT –The announcement last November that there was an alliance between the American-Canadian Tour (ACT), a Northeast regional Late Model stock car division, and the Pro All Star Series (PASS), a Super Late Model Series that competes throughout the Northeast with PASS North and the Southeast with sister series PASS South, came as welcome news to many race fans and teams in New England and Quebec.
With the recent postponement of ACT’s traditional opening event at the Lee USA Speedway due to continuing snow removal issues after a record-breaking winter for cold and snowfall that has lingered into the spring, the historic doubleheader event at Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) in Oxford, ME now inherits the start of the 2015 season in the Northeast on Saturday, April 18.
