Tiger Oxford Open Shaping Up as Perfect Season-Ender
Waterbury, VT – The first-ever visit to Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Flying Tigers is coming up this Saturday, October 19. The Flying Tiger Oxford Open 75 ends the 2019 ACT season with a landmark event for the sanctioning body’s longest-running division.
The entry list continues to grow as the big day approaches with more than 30 cars now expected. Weekly racers from Vermont’s Thunder Road and New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) and Riverside Speedway have jumped at the chance to race on the historic 3/8-mile oval. Other former regulars from around the region have worked out one-race deals for what could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Oxford Plains To Close Out Maine Season With PASS North Supers & PASS Mods
NAPLES, ME (October 16) – After a very competitive 19th season of action, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds will run their final race of the season in Maine on Saturday afternoon as part of the PASS 400 weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway. In a year that began back in April, Oxford Plains has seen a variety of different PASS winners this year, including Garrett Hall, Curtis Gerry, and Travis Benjamin.
Stretch Run To Decide PASS North Championship Begins At Oxford Plains
NAPLES, ME (September 11) – Following the enormous success of the 46th Annual Oxford 250, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North racers should be well rested as they begin the stretch run to decide the championship this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway. With the season starting to wind down, a big field of PASS North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds are expected on Sunday afternoon for a big day of racing planned at Oxford Plains.
ASHLINE MAKES HISTORY AT WISCASSET SPEEDWAY by Ken Minott
Wiscasset Speedway has spent much of the 2019 season celebrating its fifty years of racing history. More history was made this past weekend as Ben Ashline of Fairfield put his name in the record books by doing something no other driver had done. Near perfect weather greeted fans as they packed the stands on Sunday afternoon for the Boss Hogg 150. The race was the highlight of a busy doubleheader weekend at Maine’s fastest track. Saturday night showcased Group 2 divisions with the 5th annual Outlaw Mini Madness as well as the Late Model Dash for Cash. Sunday’s big pro stock race was originally created in 1991 by (then) track owner and racer Dave “Boss Hogg” St Clair as a 100 lap race. The race was revived in 2013 by current owner’s Richard & Vanessa Jordan to pay tribute to St Clair. It was then bumped up to a 150 lap race two years ago.
Oxford, ME – Newmarket, NH’s Bryan Kruzcek became the first repeat winner in the 2019 American-Canadian Tour (ACT) championship season by capturing the Oxford Plains 150 at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, August 24. Kruczek took the lead from West Burke, VT’s Jesse Switser just past the halfway mark and never gave up the top spot on his way to an ACT season sweep at the historic 3/8-mile oval.
Short Track Stars Look To Stop Pollard In This Weekend’s Oxford 250
NAPLES, ME (August 21) – With just days left before on track activity begins at Oxford Plains Speedway for the 46th Annual Oxford 250 and hundreds of campers already dot the property, Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model teams are making final preparations for one of the biggest events on the racing calendar. While many eyes will be on Georgia’s Bubba Pollard as he attempts to defend his Oxford 250 crown, the short track star might not enter Sunday’s race as the favorite. 2017 winner Curtis Gerry of Waterboro, ME, has concentrated all his efforts on competing at Oxford Plains this season, with several wins in weekly competition and a PASS North win there as well. Championship contender, Garrett Hall sits just 15 points behind the 3-time PASS North titlist, DJ Shaw, largely in part due to his two wins at Oxford Plains earlier this year. But, after advancing from the last chance race a year ago before going on to win the 250, Pollard is still the driver many feel will be the one to beat in 2019.
