OPS NEWS: Darrell Moore wins career first in Allen’s 100; Rolfe still rolling

OXFORD, Maine – Darrell Moore turned his first lap around Oxford Plains Speedway less than a year ago. It didn't take him long to look as comfortable behind the wheel as a kid playing a video game.

The Oxford Championship Series rookie made his first win a special one, capturing the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy 100 for the Mini Stock division.
Moore took the lead for good on lap 74 from Bill Childs Sr. — one of Oxford's most enduring veterans and the man who sold him the car he drove to victory. That outside pass came after at least a dozen laps of side-by-side racing, with the two leaders running virtually door-to-door but never making contact.

Buddy Poole wins Wildcat 50 lap special at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway

Scarborough, Maine-Some Wildcat drivers have waited many years to win the annual 50 lap race but Buddy Poole showed them how to do it on just the second try.  Poole started from the pole position and led the first 2 laps before Richard Randall took over.  Randall set the pace until Lyman McKeage took over on lap 6 leading to the caution flag that waved on the 11th circuit.  Randall went back to the point on the restart and stayed there thru lap 19 when the caution again appeared.

OPS NEWS: Dubus wins first at Oxford in only second career start

Dubuc inherits first career win in 2nd start on a busy Wednesday night at tech shack

OXFORD, Maine – Oxford Plains Speedway Acceleration Series fans were reminded Wednesday night that the driver who takes the leisurely lap of honor and gets to rattle off a list of thank-yous and sponsors into the victory lane microphone isn't always the winner.
First place changed hands in three of eight 20-lap features after the technical inspectors gave the leaders a fine-toothed comb.

Unity – RACE DAY-6/08

The extreme heat didn't stop the Monsta Mini's from hitting the track and putting on a cool show for the Four Cylinder National Qualifier. The twelve competitors showed just how much race car drivers ARE real athletics. Lewis Batchelder returned to the Unity Raceway oval in 2008 blazing a fast pace in the first heat race for a win. The second heat race had Tim Robinson return to his winning ways by taking the win. The feature saw Robinson take an early lead. The first caution flag would fly when a spinning Marcus Lowe would tag the #81 of Dylan Lancasater. The restart saw Robinson and Batchelder go door to door. On lap 7, Batchelder would take the lead. Duane Dunifer, returning from his fine run of last week, was gaining on the two leaders. This run would be short lived as Dunifer retired to the pits with engine problems. Jason Trundy, in his 2008 Unity Raceway debut, would start reeling in the leaders. Batchelder and Robinson would race nose to tail for many laps. Robinson would retake the lead. Batchelder's machine was starting to feel the heat of the day. Robinson would cross the stripe first, with Batchelder a close second. Trudy would take his first trophy of the 2008 season in third. Wiscasset regular, Dylan Lancaster, would finish fourth, with rookie Markus Lowe in fifth.
