NAPLES, ME (July 25) – With a month left to go and over 50 drivers already entered, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models will get their final shot this weekend at Oxford Plains Speedway to lock up a guaranteed starting spot for the 45th Annual Oxford 250. Additionally, they will also have the opportunity the get locked into the most anticipated short track event of the year, the PASS Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway in October.

WISCASSET SPEEDWAY CELEBRATES 49TH BIRTHDAY

Wiscasset Speedway celebrated 49 years on Saturday night with a full card of race action, capped off with a huge fireworks display. Group 2 had center stage with Late Models, Modifieds, Outlaw Minis and Strictly Streets, plus an annual appearance by the Senior Tour Auto Racers. The show also featured a special preview test session by the 350 SMAC Super Modifieds in advance of their historic appearance on August 11th. In race action, Liberty’s Ryan St Clair took charge of the 40 lap feature for the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Models and held off a late charge from heavy hitters Chris Thorne and Andrew McLaughlin for the victory. The names Reno and Harrison are names that fans are used to hearing at tracks throughout southern & central Maine, especially Wiscasset Speedway. Third generation racer Nick Reno and second generation driver Michael Harrison each picked up key victories Saturday night, further cementing their family legacy is the history of Maine’s fastest track. Harrison picked up his first career Super Street win in the 25 lap feature for the Maxwell’s Market Super Streets. It’s a division in which his father Kenny Harrison built a championship resume, winning races over a 20+ year career on tracks around the state. Michael Harrison held off veterans Sean Johnson and Mike Hodgkins to secure the victory. (more…)

Entry List For 45th Annual Oxford 250 Reaches Milestone

NAPLES, ME (July 16) – The entry list for the most prestigious asphalt short track race in America reached a major milestone over the weekend. With still over a month to go before the green flag drops, there are now over 50 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model entries for the 45th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in August. East Parsonsfield, ME’s Trevor Sanborn is the 50th official entrant, while two-time Oxford 250 winner, Eddie MacDonald, has actually pushed the number of drivers entered to date to 51. Competitors will have the opportunity the race for the richest winner’s purse in asphalt short track racing, with $25,000 to win, plus an additional $25,000 in lap leader money. Last year’s winner, Curtis Gerry, took home over $31,000 last year for his efforts.

Rookie Ivan Kaffel first-time Super Late Model winner at Oxford Plains Speedway

Oxford, Maine – Ivan Kaffel of Raymond drove to his first career Super Late Model victory Saturday night, topping the Budweiser Championship Series racing card at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Kaffel, 16, started seventh in the 50-lap race. He worked his way into second position, well behind racelong leader Ryan Deane of Winterport when the lone caution flaf displayed during the race appeared with just seven laps to go.
