New NEMST Photographer For 2016 Season

NEMST01The North East Mini Stock Tour is pleased to announce a new official photographer for the 2016 racing season. The new photographer is currently covering events in Florida for Area Auto Racing News and has spent many season shooting across New England speedways as well as being the official photographer for Canaan Fair Speedway and Claremont Speedway.

Wally Morton of Extreme Action Photo will be taking the controls this year while documenting the exciting NEMST action all across the region with his great photography skills. “Wally is an asset to add to the NEMST group of officials and will give our teams access to the shots they need to show appreciation of current supporters while giving high action photos to bring new sponsors and fans into the series” NEMST Promoter Bob Guptill said. 2015 Maine NASCAR All American Series Champion

17-year old Reid Lanpher of Manchester , Maine recently wrapped up the 2015 NASCAR Whalen All American Series Championship.

Lanpher also won the Pro Series Championship at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

The championships were both decided on the same night as Lanpher entered the final event with only a 10-point lead over Garret Hall of Scarborough, Maine. (more…)

Oxford, Maine — Jeff Taylor of Farmington nailed down his first victory of the season in dominant fashion, outrunning all AIM Recycling USA PASS North Super Late Model rivals as the touring series closed out its’ 2015 championship season Sunday afternoon at Oxford Plains Speedway.

An eighth-place finish was plenty good enough for Maine Hall of Fame racer Mike Rowe to add yet another championship to his extensive short track racing resume, this one the AIM Recycling USA PASS North Super Late Model title.

John Curtis Jr. of Hermon won the biggest race of his career to date at Speedway 95 Sunday afternoon when he won the Veteran’s Remembrance 150 for Late Models. Curtis started 6 in the field of 16 that took the green flag, and took the lead from Andrew McLaughlin of Harrington on lap 95. Wayne Parritt Jr. of Steuben also got by McLaughlin late in the going and challenged Curtis for the lead following a lap 142 restart. Curtis was able to keep the lead by sticking to the bottom groove, relegating Parritt to a runner up finish. McLaughlin finished third, followed by Corinna’s Paul White in fourth and Milo’s Nick Jenkins in fifth. Brenton Parritt of Steuben, Josh St. Clair of Liberty, Deane Smart of Bradley, Donny Blanchard of Orrington and Chris Ryan of Newburgh rounded out the top 10.

FALL FURY AT WISCASSET BRINGS 2015 SEASON TO A CLOSE

It was Fall Fury at Wiscasset Speedway once again, bringing a close to the 2015 Wiscasset Racing Season. Fans lined the grandstand to watch a presentation of ten feature races, including all eight divisions of regular season racing.  Also making an appearance were the two classes of Wicked Good Vintage Racers.  Wiscasset Speedway celebrated the season’s end with driver awards, presentations, and a pig roast for friends, drivers, their families, fans, and Speedway staff.

Starting off the racing action were the two divisions of the Wicked Good Vintage Racer’s.  In the first division, Late Models and Modified pitted their skills against each other and raced to the finish.  By lap six, the #13 of Jody Lewis had taken the lead, and did not relinquish it.  The #24 of Zac Poland and the #420 of Keith Smalley battled for second place throughout the race.  Poland edged out Smalley during lap fifteen of the twenty lap feature.  Lewis sped under the checkered in first place.  Poland took second.  Rounding out the top three was Smalley in third.
