Speedway95WAYNE PARRITT TAKES LATE MODEL SERIES WIN AT SPEEDWAY 95

After battling for the lead with Frankfort’s Dana Wilbur in the early laps of the 50 lap Hopkins Landscaping series feature for the Dysart’s Late Models at Speedway 95 Saturday night, Wayne Parritt of Steuben powered past Wilbur on a lap 21 restart and led the rest of the way to post his second win of the season. Behind Parritt, Dean Smart of Bradley and Joey Doyon of Winterport put on the show of the race with their battle for second and third. Smart held the second position with Doyon on his bumper and at his side for the second half of the race, with Smart taking the second position at the checkers. Doyon took third with Brenton Parritt of Steuben finishing fourth. Wilbur held on for a fifth place finish. These results are unofficial as Doyon’s motor was pulled in post race inspection after some of the engine seals were found to be broken. A further inspection of the motor will be conducted to determine it’s eligibility for competition in the division.

Shane Tatro of Levant led from the green to the checkers in the Darling’s Ford Sportsman division, with Rookie Trey Brown of Winterport taking the second spot when Steve Kimball of Holden was forced to pit with a flat tire. Ralph Melanson of Corinth finished in third, after recovering from an early race spin that brought out the only caution in the 25 lap race. Mike Overlock of Franklin finished fourth, with Kimball taking the fifth spot.

Durham, ME – Evan Beaulieu and the #56 Hancock Lumber team will return to Wiscasset Speedway this weekend for the track’s most prestigious Pro Stock race of the season, the Boss Hogg 100 lap event.  The race pays $3,000 to win including lap money to the race leaders.  After a strong runner up finish in only his second start after a rough Pro Stock race, Beaulieu is confident going into this weekend’s event that his team will have a shot at the big money.

“We just have to be on our A game this weekend,” Beaulieu said of this weekend’s race, “We’ve been really good in our first two starts here, and if everything can go right for us we’ll be near the front at the end, but these races have been unpredictable and we just have to keep out of trouble if we want to be there at the end, I’ve really enjoyed racing at Wiscasset, you can drive the car a lot harder there than you can at most tracks and the track has a lot of character.” (more…)
