Thirty six NASCAR K&N Pro Series East cars took the green flag in the Blue Ox 100 at Richmond International Raceway on Thursday with Eddie MacDonald in the unenviable 33rd starting position. When the checkered flag waved at the end of the 100 lap (75 miles) race the Grimm Construction Chevy scored an impressive fourth place finish.
“We needed that finish after the last couple of races,” said a very pleased driver. “We had a terrible qualifying attempt. The front of the car was hitting the track and it was smoking quite a bit. We had to start the race that way since the cars are impounded after qualifying.” (more…)
Barre, VT – Eddie MacDonald, a two-time New Hampshire Motor Speedway winner with the American Canadian Tour (ACT), has entered the Merchants Bank 150 at Thunder Road this Sunday, April 28, adding to a star-studded entry list for Thunder Road’s season opening event.
MacDonald, who finished third at the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup ACT season opener, has a long racing resume in New England. He currently races on the K&N East Tour as well as ACT. (more…)

THE STORY
MANCHESTER, Maine – Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine, heads back to the seat of the No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet for the fourth round of the Dirty Dozen Cup, with Twin 125-lap Late Model events at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va., on Saturday, April 27. The 14-year-old Lanpher posted his first career podium finish for the JR Motorsports team owned by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. This weekend’s event marks the beginning of four consecutive Dirty Dozen Cup dates to be held at the track where Lanpher’s teammate at JR Motorsports, Josh Berry, won the 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track championship.
Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour has partnered with the Quebec Sportsman Series to provide a new contingency program for their racers in Eastern Canada called the ACT New Champions Program.
The New Champions Program provides a $100 bonus to the highest finishing driver in each event of the Quebec Sportsman Series who has not won a race in 2013. It will start with the winner of their first event. (more…)
After last week’s races in Florida and New Hampshire, Eddie MacDonald and the Grimm Racing Team will take the green flags this week on Thursday at Richmond International Raceway and on Sunday at Thunder Road in Barre, Vermont.
For the third year in a row, RIR will host NASCAR’s K & N Pro Series East event in the Blue Ox 100 as part of the big Cup weekend at the banked .75 mile D-shaped track. When the checkered flag waves sometime Thursday night, the team will pack up for a return to the Newburyport, Mass. shop on Friday to get ready for a Saturday morning departure for the American Canadian Tour race at the historic “bullring” in the Green Mountain state.
