A new race season and a new racing adventure as 2011 Amsoil NELCAR Legends Champion, Evan Beaulieu, changes gears and get behind the wheel of a super late model. “This season we will be racing the 56 Super Late Model at BRMS in the Pro Series for Dan McKeage and the Naughty40 Racing team. Devil’s Bowl Dirt Modifieds To Run At Memorial Day Classic
Barre, VT– Thunder Road officials have put the final touches on the schedule for the Nation’s Site of Excitement for the 2013 season, kicking off the year with the Merchants Bank 150 on April 27th and 28th and closing out with the 51st running of the Vermont Milk Bowl on October 5/6.
The schedule will include 18 overall events at the Barre highbanks, with 14 of them counting towards the Late Model Track Title. The stars of the American Canadian Tour will start the year at the Merchants Bank 150 on April 27/28, and the chase to become the next King of the Road will begin with the 51st Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic on Sunday, May 26. The Devil’s Bowl Bond Auto Parts Dirt Modifieds will make their first Thunder Road appearance to run a 50-lap feature before the Late Model’s 100-lap classic. (more…)
Eddie MacDonald opened the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season with an impressive drive from the back of the field to post a seventh place finish in the Drive4COPD 125 on the famed “World’s Fastest Half Mile.” The race had special meaning for the team as it displayed the “Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week” logo in support of Megan Spaulding, the daughter of team owners Karla and Rob Grimm, who was recently diagnosed with the disease.
After a disappointing qualifying run on Thursday, the Grimm Construction Toyota started 30th in the 36 car field on Saturday with Eddie Mac saying, “We really expected to post a good qualifying lap but it just didn’t happen. The car was fast in practice so we knew we would be okay in the race. It is a brand new Gibb’s car and it was the first time we ever had it on a track. Rollie and I decided to ride along and take what we could get without wrecking or using up the tires and then make adjustments at the break around lap 70. Everyone knows Bristol is a tough, unforgiving track, so patience is a necessity.” (more…)
Auburn, Maine – The Selection Committee of the Maine Motorsports Hall of Fame has chosen seven individuals to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2013. “Championship” is the common theme for the Class of 2013 with five championship drivers and two championship car owners entering the Hall of Fame together.
Bruce Elder, co-chairman of the Selection Committee and vice-president of the Maine Vintage Race Car Association, announced the members of the Class of 2013 at the General Meeting of the Maine Vintage Race Car Association.
The Class of 2013 champion inductees are: drivers Butch Burgess, Bob Hallee, Jon Lizotte, Kenny Lund and Ron Smith, and father and son car owners Mike D’Amico Sr. and Mike D’Amico Jr. (more…)
HUDSON, NH –Stock car driver Joey Polewarczyk Jr will be competing with his #97 Pole’s Automotive, NH Precision, Riveteyelet.com Ford Fusion in some of the biggest and most prestigious races in the Northeast for 2013.
Joey Pole Racing now has both an American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Type Late Model and a Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model in their possession. “We plan on racing most of the big races in the region for both series; we’ve won some great races in the past and we’ll be looking to repeat our previous successes.” Polwarczyk Jr stated.
The twenty-three year old Hudson, NH native will open the 2013 campaign by competing in the ACT’s season opening event at Lee Speedway on April 13-14. Joey will try to become a repeat winner of this event and reclaim the NH Governor’s Cup. (more…)
