Barre, VT – Thunder Road International Speedbowl officials have announced the make-up date of the postponed Make-A-Wish/Bond event as Sunday, August 19. The event, which was postponed due to rain on Thursday, August 9, will now be a Sunday twilight show with a 4:30pm post time. The grandstands will open at 3:00pm with the pits opening at 2:00pm.
It will now be the second to last Late Model point counting event in the 2012 “King of the Road” battle as the champion will be decided on Thursday, August 23. The Make-A-Wish/Bond event will feature all three Thunder Road divisions plus the annual Run-What-U-Brung and for the first time ever the Tough Truck Tug-O-War on the August 19 make-up date.
Thunder Road point battles continue next Thursday, August 16 with the VP Racing Fuel night. Post time will be 6:30pm.

The event will feature all three Thunder Road divisions plus the annual Run-What-U-Brung and for the first time ever the Tough Truck Tug-O-War. Fans can bring their street legal, registered and inspected vehicles and tackle the Barre highbanks in one lap match races in the Run-What-U-Brung or bring their Tough Trucks for the Tug-O-War pull offs.

NAPLES ME (8/9) All three Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North racing divisions take to the quarter mile at North Woodstock New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park this Sunday and fans are guaranteed a non stop afternoon of PASS-style racing action.
The PASS Sportsman have two events under their belt but their schedule heats up in August starting at White Mountain. Defending Sportsman Champ Carey Martin leads Joe Pastore and Craig Smith by 12 markers. Lee USA winner JR Baril is two back from that pair and Scott Dorr sits fifth. Look for a tight battle from laps one through seventy five for the super competitive Sportsman series. (more…)
Barre, VT – For all the fans that have wanted to try out the high banks of Barre’s Thunder Road, their wish will come true this Thursday (August 9) presented by Make-A-Wish and Bond Auto Parts. The annual Run-What-U-Brung event, where fans can race their registered and inspected cars around the high banks, will run between Late Model, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman, and Allen Lumber Street stock events.
Run-What-U-Brung has become a highlight of the summer at Thunder Road. The event features one-on-one match races with street-legal cars to duel for the overall win. With a four-cylinder and an eight-cylinder bracket, the winners of each side face off in a finale to become the Run-What-U-Brung champion. Vehicles of all styles – including compact cars, muscle cars, trucks, limousines, and even bread trucks – come to participate in the event. (more…)

SOUTH PARIS, Maine – It’s not the checkered flag being waved over his car, the Victory Lane ceremonies or even the final pass for the lead that Gary Chiasson will remember most.
Nope, what Chiasson will remember most about his first career Oxford Plains Speedway Late Model win was one of the smaller moments that stock car drivers cherish most.
“I looked up and there were two laps to go and I was running into lapped traffic, and I saw the flagman waving the passing flag to those cars ahead of me,” said Chiasson, of Peru, Maine. “That’s when I figured I was really going to win it. He was pushing over those lapped cars down to the inside, and I’ll never forget it.” (more…)
