Bob Seger Jr. of Frankfort won the Big Enduro feature Wednesday night and made it three for three in the Big Enduro Series at Speedway 95 this summer as he won all three qualifiers and features in the series, ending with a perfect 300 points. Alvin MacNevin of Clifton gave chase to Seger in the series finale but was only able to get as close as Seger would let him get in the closing laps. MacNevin finished second with his brother, Shawn MacNevin of Hudson finishing third after a race long battle with Shawn Racilla of Dover-Foxcroft for the position. Racilla finished fourth with Melanie Mitchell of Milo finishing fifth.
In the Little Enduros, Darren Durrell of Newburgh took the lead from Andrew Crosby of Hermon on a lap 11 restart and held on for the win after working his way up from the rear of the field at the start. Crosby hung on to second with Milford’s Garett Hayman right on his bumper to finish third. Kyle Gallant of Veazie fell to fourth in the late stages of the event, and Charles McKusic of Abbott finished fifth.

Helliwell, Laperle Lead Invites to New Hampshire
Watebury, VT –ACT officials have announced that the first ten invitations to the Bond Auto American Canadian Tour Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH have been confirmed. Competitors have been invited based on performance thus far in 2012, or have earned their invite by scoring a feature victory on either the American Canadian Tour, or Serie ACT Castrol. Six American teams and four Canadian teams have been invited thus far.
The six invites on the American side include ACT Point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr., Eight-time American Canadian Tour Champion Brian Hoar, 2011 Rookie of the Year Ben Ashline, former Thunder Road Champion Nick Sweet, as well as former Oxford Plains Speedway Champion Ricky Rolfe, and former ACT Invitational winner Joey Polewarczyk, Jr.

Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials have announced the disqualification of Barre Mayor Thom Lauzon from the 28th Annual M&M Beverage Enduro 200 held on Sunday, August 5 at Barre’s Thunder Road. Lauzon, the driver of the #39 O.U.R. House/Believe in Barre 1986 Buick Regal made an unapproved driver switch in the middle of the event, disqualifying him from his 80th place finish.
Lauzon, who is a hometown crowd favorite as the Mayor of Barre, found himself in trouble early in the 200-lap event. The 51-year old driver recorded 40 laps unofficially, but after an early incident dove into the pits and made an illegal driver switch. Just before the change however, Lauzon drew the ire of the Thunder Road Property Management team by engaging in some “agricultural racing”, tearing up the track’s infield for several minutes after a tire blowout.

Legendary car builder Jim Belfiore has been chosen as Grand Marshall for this Friday night’s Annual 75 lap Ollie Silva Memorial Summer Classic at the Lee USA Speedway presented by Haffner’s Gasoline and Fuels, “It Kicks.” Belfiore , who considered Ollie Silva as a personal friend, describes his selection as “A great honor.”
Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, Jim Belfiore was a participant during the early days of super modified racing both as an owner and a driver, and was a charter member of New England Super Modified Association organization. He also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at U Mass Lowell. Career opportunities took him to San Jose, CA where he resided for several years. He attained a Master’s Degree in California, and it was in the Golden State where his enthusiasm for super modified racing was rekindled.

DJ Shaw put his Precision JLM Toyota out front on lap 104 of Saturday night’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) 150 to earn his first super late model feature win of 2012. Travis Benjamin raced home in second and Ben Rowe was third.
The victory was Shaw’s first PASS feature victory since September of 2011 when he checkered at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The Center Conway New Hampshire racer, who builds the race cars he drives for Julio and Rita Miglioli, now has four PASS North career wins. He joins Cassius Clark, Travis Benjamin,Johnny Clark, Derek Ramstrom, Joey Doiron and Scott Dragon on the 2012 PASS North winner’s list.

Lonnie Sommerville Seekonk Speedway Report
SEEKONK, Mass. – Lonnie Sommerville of Saint John, New Brunswick, finished fifth in the PASS North Series 150 at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, August 4. Sommerville ran as high as second before a late-race caution flag jumbled the field. The Mulkern Racing No. 48 A.E. McKay Builders/Southern Maine Motors Chevrolet posted its third Top-5 finish of the season with the effort. Sommerville has now finished in the Top-5 in each of his two career starts at Seekonk Speedway.
