Eddie MacDonald posted third place finishes in the Pro Stock/ Super Late Model and Late Model features to complete the rescheduled Oktoberfest at his family owned track on Sunday, Oct.24. Due to heavy rain on the second of two days of racing two weeks ago, the Sunday event was completed to end the Lee USA season on a chilly blustery day.
The “Outlaw” piloted the Dave Lemieux owned PS/SLM Chevy to a solid third place finish in fifty lap feature. Eddie Mac drove the famous Flame #17 GTO to a third place finish in the 40 lap Late Model race.
“We are very pleased to have EXIT Realty Beatrice Associates with us on the Pro Stock as well as the Late Model,” said Eddie Mac. “Derek Beatrice has been a strong supporter of our racing program and even sponsored the Oktoberfest weekend at the track and our team and family appreciate everything he has done. EXIT Realty will again be on both cars next weekend at Seekonk Speedway and we look forward to even better finishes. We were a little off today but know we can improve to finish off our season with solid runs.”

Lee, NH – Mother Nature was the big winner on Oktoberfest weekend at Lee USA Speedway, picking up her first win of the 2016 racing season due to heavy rains that resulted in a complete washout of Sunday‘s scheduled feature events.
“New Hampshire’s Center of Speed” had gone rain-free for the entire 2016 season, starting with annual American Canadian Tour (ACT) season opener back in April, and continuing through the entire 16-week Friday night regular season from late May through early September.
Unfortunately, the perfect season was not to be, and last Sunday’s feature event action fell victim to wet weather and was postponed to Sunday, October 23. A dozen feature events remain to be run to close out the 2016 season at the fast 3/8th’s mile speed plant.

Eddie MacDonald’s return to his family owned Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H. track for Oktoberfest presented by EXIT Realty, produced a second place finish in the Pro Stock/Super late Model 50 lap feature and first in the Late Model heat on Saturday, October, 8. Another 50 lap PS/SLM race and a 40 lap Late Model feature were slated for Sunday but heavy rains forced a re-scheduling for Sunday, October 23, beginning at noon.
A late week decision was made by Team MacDonald to run the Dave Lemieux owned Chevy Pro Stock along with the famous “#17 “Flame” Late Model GTO that won three Bond Invitational races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and two Oxford 250’s with many other victories in the record books.
With little work the EXIT Realty/Hancock Electric Late Model was ready to go performing well in Friday’s practice and finishing first in the heat on Saturday. The EXIT Realty Pro Stock proved to be more difficult to get into shape after sitting idle for most of the racing season. Eddie Mac drove the car to victory in the first ever Super Late Model race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last season. The first glitch came after the first practice Friday when the transmission bound up followed by a rear end problem that required changing Saturday morning. Repairs were made in time for the heat race only to get run over on the start causing a flat time and torn up fender. Quick repairs were made as Eddie Mac returned to the track to complete five heat laps.

Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway still has a couple of on-track events to go before closing out the 2016 racing season, but it’s already time for the first big announcement regarding what’s in store for 2017 at “New Hampshire’s Center of Speed”.
Still celebrating their 30th year steering the LEE USA ship, track owners Red and Judy MacDonald are pleased to announce the return of Joe Bassett to the staff for the 2017 campaign. In preparation for next year, Bassett will be assuming the role of General Manager as soon as he can tie up a few loose ends at his current gig with the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
No stranger to Lee USA’s racers and fans, Joe is looking forward to the opportunity to continue to grow the highly-successful speedway operation in the coming years. Bassett will be assuming the position soon to be vacated by the retirement of Bill Callen, who’s been a familiar face and filled countless roles since joining the staff back before the turn of the century.
Lee USA is widely recognized as one of the cleanest, best-run facilities in the New England region, and things should only get better as plans for the 2017 season are finalized.

Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway closed out the regular Friday night season for the weekly competitors in the five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions at “New Hampshire’s Center of Speed”, with all 16 of this year’s scheduled events making it into the record books dating back to opening night on May 27.
The 2016 champions were crowned in all divisions, with second-generation racer Dave “Hollywood” Helliwell of Pelham taking down the title in the Supermodifieds to close out his first year competing in the track’s headlining NASCAR Whelen All-American Series division.
Hollywood’s not the first member of the storied Helliwell clan to accomplish that feat, he follows in the footsteps of older brother Wayne, Jr., who although better known for his exploits aboard full-bodied racecars, culminated his Lee USA career with a title run in the famed Witkum Brothers Racing Super.

Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway celebrated “Kid’s Back to School Night” on Friday, and it was a homecoming party for former multi-time champ Tommy Tombarello, Jr., who made his 2016 debut with a sweep, winning both his heat and the feature event to once again stake his claim to the king’s throne in the EKeys4cars Supermodifieds.
Haverhill, MA’s Tombarello has been on the sidelines since a season-ending crash finished his 2015 championship campaign with a hard trip into the unforgiving Lee USA concrete, but his return to action reminded everybody in the house that he’s the man to beat.
Journeyman chauffer Mike Netishen of Auburn set the pace for the first several laps of the main, coming off a tough run a week earlier that saw engine issues cut his night short early in the feature event. This week, Netishen led the way until lap 17, when Tombarello made has way past, looking to regain his winning form.
