OKTOBERFEST WEEKEND AT LEE USA SPEEDWAY, OCT 19th THRU 21st

Oktoberfest, Lee USA Speedway’s traditional season ending weekend racing bash, will commence on October 19th through the 21st. Over 300 cars from all over the northeast are expected to compete in the 12 divisions of race cars that will be featured. Last year seven states and several Canadian provinces were represented, the farthest coming from Nova Scotia. This year, three series championships will be decided, and for the rest, bragging rights throughout the winter will be on the line. Everyone wants to win their Oktoberfest feature event.

More importantly however, Oktoberfest is about fun for all. A full itinerary of social events will complement the non-stop racing action throughout the weekend. A Friday night Beer Bash will follow practice for all divisions from 3PM to 7PM. Breakfast will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Also, on Friday and Saturday nights, there will be hay rides for kids big and small. Then after Saturday’s heat race action, another Lee USA Oktoberfest tradition, the Spaghetti Supper with a DJ and dancing until late into the night. Fan and competitor commradery will be the weekend’s theme.

RESULTS FOR SEPTEMBER 9, 2012 AT LEE USA SPEEDWAY

Lee, NH – The final Friday night program of weekly racing settled the 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track championships at Lee USA Speedway, with 2010 titleist Tommy Tombarello, Jr. returning to championship form and taking the crown in the Benson Lumber and Hardware Small Block Supermodifieds.

Multi-time champ J.R Baril collected top honors in the highly-competitive Late Model Sportsman, Jim Shorey added another championship trophy to his collection in the “Unpredictable” Hobby Stocks, and Jake Rheaume closed out the 2012 season with the Ironman championship honors.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2012 RACE RESULTS FOR LEE USA

Lee, NH – With the regular NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season finale just a week away, Lee USA Speedway’s back to school Friday night program featured race car rides for kids and the annual running of the 50-lap Lance Davis Memorial race for the Prime Storage Warehouse Late Model Sportsmen at the top of the card.

The Davis family presented the winner’s hardware to former champion Grant Aither, who proved to be the class of the field in the main event. Aither took the lead from Timmy Johnson in the early going, and he set the pace the rest of the way to easily collect the win and the huge trophy that went with it.

LEE USA SPEEDWAY RESULTS FROM FRIDAY, AUGUST 24, 2012

Lee, NH – The chase for the 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track championship at Lee USA Speedway continued Friday night, with double features making it an even more challenging for the Benson Lumber and Hardware Small Block Supermodified competitors.

Twin 25-lap feature events were on tap for the open-wheelers, and when the checkers waved, we had not one, but two first-time winners rolling into victory lane. Second-year competitor Leslie Keyser collected his first career win in the opener, and veteran Moe Lattime got his first Small Block Super checkered the nightcap.

Veteran Race Car Builder, Jim Belfiore named Grand Marshall of the Ollie Silva Memorial Super Modified Classic

Legendary car builder Jim Belfiore has been chosen as Grand Marshall for this Friday night’s Annual 75 lap Ollie Silva Memorial Summer Classic at the Lee USA Speedway presented by Haffner’s Gasoline and Fuels, “It Kicks.” Belfiore , who considered Ollie Silva as a personal friend, describes his selection as “A great honor.”

Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, Jim Belfiore was a participant during the early days of super modified racing both as an owner and a driver, and was a charter member of New England Super Modified Association organization. He also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at U Mass Lowell. Career opportunities took him to San Jose, CA where he resided for several years. He attained a Master’s Degree in California, and it was in the Golden State where his enthusiasm for super modified racing was rekindled.

RESULTS FROM FRIDAY, AUGUST 3rd AT LEE USA SPEEDWAY

Lee, NH – The David’s Race Cars and Components Hobby Stocks took center stage at Lee USA Speedway Friday night, and they wowed the crowd with a non-stop, green-to-checker 50-lap main event in their biggest race of the season.

Niko Maniatis quickly broke out of the pack to set the pace when flagman Don Horvath let them loose, leading the first eight circuits before he fell to the charge of Chris Jacobson, who went the distance from there to collect the win, holding off a tough challenge from multi-feature winner Jim Shorey in the late laps to score top honors.
