Lee USA Speedway 6/2/17 Race Report

Despite a quick shower that interrupted the action during qualifying, Lee USA Speedway put another Friday night program in the record books, with Auburn racer John Burke putting on a clinic to post the win in the Rodfather-sponsored NASCAR Whelen All American Series Supermodified feature.

When flagman Steve Gran unfurled the green for the 30-lap main event, Burke immediately broke out to the lead, and with just a single caution period to slow the race on lap two, it was less than nine minutes later when Gran dropped the checkers over Burke’s first-ever Lee USA Speedway win.

Lee USA Speedway 5/19/17 Race Report

Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway raised the curtain on the 2017 weekly racing season on Friday night, with defending Super champion Dave “Hollywood” Helliwell of Salem making a statement in his first ride aboard the storied Witkum Brothers Racing entry, taking down the checkers for the season opening win in the Rodfather-sponsored NASCAR Whelen All American Series Supermodified feature.

ISMA Supermodified veteran Jamie Timmons led the early laps of the main, clicking off some impressive laps in the machine normally steered by Kyle Sawyer, setting a torrid pace over the first half of the 30-lap main event. Helliwell moved up to challenge Timmons shortly after the crossed flags, and made the winning pass to take over the point on lap 18, going the distance from there to post the win.

Modifieds return to Lee Speedway in special holiday race Saturday

LEE, NH:  The mighty modifieds return to Lee USA Speedway in a rare appearance and a Memorial Day Weekend special event this Saturday afternoon offering race fans an entirely new race format.

Drivers from throughout New England are entered for Saturday’s “Lee 125” event starting at 2 pm, with practice at noon.

The open-wheel modifieds will run in three 25-lap qualifying heats, each paying $500 to the winner and $1,400 to the top five. Heat races will determine starting spots in the 24-car 50-lap feature event paying $3,000 to the winner.

Over $300,000 in prize money offered this season at Lee

              LEE, NH:  The 2017 Friday night racing season opens this Friday night at Lee USA Speedway where a track-record $339,000 in prize money has been posted for various divisions competing at scheduled events.

 

The weekly Friday night races start at 7:00pm with practice sessions beginning at 5:00pm.

 

Winged super-modifieds again will be the NASCAR championship point division this season at Lee, running weekly qualifying heat races and 30-lap feature events. Winners of each 30-lap feature are guaranteed a minimum $1,000 with $700 for second and $400 for third.

FRIDAY NIGHT RACE SEASON OPENS AT LEE

LEE, NH:  The 2017 Friday Night racing season opens this Friday with a five-division, 12-race program here at Lee USA Speedway starting at 7:00 pm. The winged super-modifieds lead the way with Friday night’s 30-lap feature winner picking up $1,000 and a quick lead in the NASCAR championship point standings for this year’s track title.

Dave Helliwell, last year’s track champ, has sold his car and joined the Bob and Ed Witkum team to drive the multi-time champion No. 21 super-mod. Helliwell, of Pelham, N.H., is only in his second season of driving the fast supers. He’ll have plenty of competition from arch-rival Tommy Tombarello,
