New Hampshire Governor’s Cup Postponed for Second Time
Waterbury, VT – For the second time this month, American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Lee USA Speedway officials have announced the postponement of the 28th New Hampshire Governor’s Cup, citing unsuitable ground conditions at the facility. The event has now been rescheduled for Saturday, May 12 at 2:00pm.

Barre, VT – Thunder Road officials announced today that multiple new event sponsors have signed on for the 2018 season. Some have current previous ties to the speedway while others will be joining the Thunder Road family for the first time.
The biggest change is the addition of Bolduc Metal Recycling as the title sponsor of the annual Enduro 200 scheduled for Sunday, August 5. Bolduc has signed a multi-year deal to replace M&M Beverage, who had been the underwriter for the event since its inception in 1986. The company will also sponsor the 50-lap Street Stock Special held on that date.

Barre, VT – The Community Bank N.A. 150 on Sunday, April 29 at 1:00pm will kick off the 59th season of racing at Barre’s Thunder Road. While the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models headline the card, the track’s famed Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are certain to shine as well. One of the largest Opening Day fields in years is anticipated for Thunder Road’s longest-running racing class.
The Tigers begin their 2018 championship chase at the Community Bank 150 as the division enters its 37th consecutive season of competition. Many drivers from the 2017 season will return for this year’s campaign with the title up for grabs. Defending Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger Champion Jason Woodard will begin the season on the sidelines while runner-up Brendan Moodie has moved up to the Maplewood/Irving Late Models. A number of veterans and rising stars will thus look to ascend the throne.

Bonsignore Returns to Winning ways with Icebreaker Win
Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park concluded its annual season-opening Icebreaker weekend on Sunday, April 8 with a packed crowd on hand who braved the cold New England weather to experience the season debuts of Thompson’s track divisions as well as an appearance by the Pro All Star Series and the highlight event of the weekend, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Icebreaker 150.
After opening their season at Myrtle Beach, the stars of the Whelen Modified Tour took center stage at Thompson hoping to grab momentum early in the 2018 campaign. Several big names found themselves in precarious positions over the course of the event including defending champion Doug Coby had to endure damage to his car during an incident on lap 115. Other big names like Timmy Solomito and Woody Pitkat were also involved incidents throughout the day, but the biggest crash of the race occurred less than 20 laps from the finish when a multicar incident resulted in Jimmy Blewett ending up on his roof bringing out the second red flag of the evening.
