N. Woodstock, NH – Dillon Moltz got the jump over Eddie MacDonald on a restart with 16 laps remaining and held on for his first career American-Canadian Tour (ACT) victory in the “Showdown in the Mountains” White Mountain 150 at N. Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Sunday, July 24.

The Waterford, CT driver, who is in his first full season competing on the ACT Late Model Tour, dominated the middle stages of the event before MacDonald got around him following the race’s fifth caution on lap 96. MacDonald maintained the top spot through a lap 119 restart, but when the seventh and final caution came out for defending ACT Champion Wayne Helliwell, Jr’s flat right front tire on lap 134, Moltz was able to take advantage.

Bobby Therrien started on the pole and led the first five laps before surrendering the point to White Mountain Late Model point leader Quinny Welch. Therrien sped back by on lap 18, while Welch developed overheating problems shortly thereafter.

HUDSON, NC (July 22) – Mt. Airy, NC’s John Smith and Burt Myers battled side-by-side for the final 16 laps as Smith edged ahead at the finish for his third straight Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) Presented By PASS win Friday night at Tri-County Motor Speedway.

“This is one of the best racetracks we go to, I wish we could race here every week,” said Smith in victory lane. “Burt [Myers] was pinching me off and he was doing what he needed to do to keep me down there, but I had such great forward drive. We raced side-by-side and I don’t think we ever touched each other. What a day.”

For the third time this year, Brandon Ward was able to capture the Precision Built Spindles Pole Award with a lap of 15.252 seconds (98.190 MPH). But, after the top four qualifier redraw, Smith would slot into the pole position, while Ward would move back to the third starting position.

Barre, VT – Scott Dragon of Milton literally caught Nick Sweet of Barre at the finish line to capture the makeup of the rained-out Governor’s Cup, and Eric Badore of Milton took advantage of rookie Marcel Gravel’s late-race misfortune to earn the Thunder Road Late Model feature on Fairpoint Communications Night.

Sweet dominated for most of the Governor’s Cup, running away from the 29-car field from the pole position at the green flag to take the lead, which he held for the first 136 laps of the 150-lap event. Dragon got better as the race went on, moving into the top 3 on lap 115, then claiming second place on the 128th lap, then moving in front on a lap 141 restart.

Sweet went back in front three laps after that restart following the fourth caution of the race. Dragon continued the chase, caught Sweet coming out of turn 4 on the final lap, then finished 1/100th of a second in front of Sweet as the two drivers made contact at the finish line.

NAPLES, ME (July 21) – For only the second time this season, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North Super Late Models and the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models will compete together in Twin 150s as they headline the “Summer Showdown In The Mountains” at White Mountain Motorsports Park.  This weekend will also mark the first time PASS has competed at the tight, quarter-mile confines which are located in North Woodstock, NH since May, 2014.

One driver who will be very busy this weekend will be homestate favorite Joey Polewarczyk.  Joey Pole, as he is known by his fans, will be seeking his first career PASS North Super Late Model win, while also fielding an entry for the ACT Late Model event for his development driver, Ryan Olsen.

“We felt pretty strong about our car at White Mountain before the PASS race that was rained out in June and we feel like we keep improving on our Super Late Model program,” says Polewarczyk, driver of the Pole’s Automotive #97.  “We are still searching for our first PASS win and White Mountain would be the perfect place.  It’s small, fast, and very racy, so I think it will be very exciting.”
