After The Farmyard Store Flying Tigers and 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Models have both had their time at the top of the heap, the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Strictly Minis take center stage this Saturday at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The popular four-cylinder class is ready to take down 50 laps on the highbanks in the longest distance of the season!
Jacob Roy holds a slim margin over Thunder Road invader Nate ‘Tater’ Brien after the Williamstown, Vermonter took down his first win of the season last Saturday. What started off as a just-for-fun pair of outings may turn into a championship run for Tater this week while rumor has it he won’t be the only one. Fellow Williamstown driver Kyle MacAskill has set a goal of thirty-races between Thunder Road and White Mountain this summer while the ACT Office has heard about several Thunder Road masters looking to make the trip over the Kancamagus Highway this Saturday for some extra-distance action.
White Mountain Opens Season with 5th Annual Spring Board 100 on May 27th
N. Woodstock, NH — Following last weekend’s rain out, the 31st season of stock car racing at North Woodstock, New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park begins in earnest this Saturday, May 27th with the 5t annual Spring Board 100 for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models. The annual Memorial Day weekend event will also serve as the first of an expanded four races for the Wall’s Ford Platinum Series, a championship within a championship for the local Late Models with several Northeast ringers also expected to join the fray.
N. Woodstock, NH — East Thetford, VT’s Matt Sonnhalter stood firm through everything the North East Mini Stock Tour (NEMST) field could hurl at him on his way to victory at North Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, June 9. Sonnhalter took the lead on lap 8 of the 50-lap feature and held off a huge pack in the final dash for the win.
The NEMST veteran started seventh in his familiar #33VT truck and did not need long to get the lead. Passing nearly a car a lap, Sonnhalter flew past Seekonk, MA’s Mike Viens to grab the top spot with just eight laps complete.
However, that was just the beginning of Sonnhalter’s battle. After a caution on lap 12 for a tangle involving Emerson Cayer and Cody LeBlanc, things got serious for the crown. As Sonhalter fended off Robert Anderson, Viens, reigning NEMST champion Desmond Skillings, and others at the front, LeBlanc and Cayer were flying out of the back.
Woodstock, NH – Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT. took the checkers at the White Mountain 100 on Saturday night. In practice and the scuff sessions, veteran to the track, DJ Shaw of Center Conway, NH posted the fastest times. Wayne Helliwell Jr. of Dover, NH who has run well in the ACT Series posted some of the fastest times as well.
The feature saw Helliwell Jr. on the poll, and Luke Hinkley of Claremont, NH started on the outside to start the race. The early part of the race saw Helliwell take an early lead for the first twenty laps of the race. Eventually Shaw would take the lead and hold it until lap 40 when the caution flew. Shaw and Hinkley made contact on the backstretch sending the 31NH car up the pit road in a wild ride with the car ending up on thp of the pit wall, ending his night early.

Waterbury, VT – The American Racer Three Star program is designed to recognize three teams in no particular order of performance that had outstanding races at American-Canadian Tour (ACT) U.S. Tour events. There are no specific criteria for deciding who might receive the award of a free American Racer Tire (value $125.00), but a special effort by a team, exceptional race, just plain old hard luck, or any other accepted reason is used to decide the award recipients.
The Three Stars are chosen by ACT officials and will receive certificates for use of a free American Racer tire at a race of their choosing during the 2015 season.
