Thomas Everson of Gilmanton NH will be racing in the #4NH legend car this race season. “We kicked off our 2017 Season at Citrus County Speedway for the US Legends Winter Nationals in February. Five days of racing against many of the top racers from the US and Canada. We left winter nationals sitting 10th in National Points for the Semi Pro Division. Our partnership with Kyle Beattie Racing and Driver Development Program has allowed us to really step up our racing performance. We plan to run a couple more races down south before our New England season begins on April 22nd.”
NELCAR begins their 2017 race season at Wiscasset on April 22nd. “Wiscasset is my favorite track to run on the NELCAR schedule so I am excited to kick off our NE schedule there this week.”
Kyle Kramlich, of Scarborough,ME. has been expanded his mind studying Automotive Engineering at Ferris State University, in Michigan. Though race season is almost here and, Kyle is starting a new adventure this race season, moving up into the Sports Series at the Ridge. “Our plans are to run full time in the Sports Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. I do not have any experience in this series but, I’ve talked to people about it and what to feel for. I don’t plan to go set the world on fire so, I plan on starting in back and trying to learn this car and just get seat time.”
There are a number of different racing series here at the short tracks in New England but, Kyle decide to race in the Sports Series at the ridge. “I felt like it would be a good challenge to get into a different type of car compared to a Mad bomber. I felt like I had got a good experience with the good and bad things that come with racing and was ready to move up. I wanted the challenge that came with it so I could push myself to a higher level of racing. I know it will be a whole new animal driving this car but, I’m really excited for it.”
Jake Matheson, driver of the #52NH is changing gears for the 2017 race season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “I plan to run the Legend car full time in 2017 and would really like to travel as much as possible. I also plan to work hard for my team’s chosen charity, Operation Homefront. They are an organization that helps military families during hard times.”
Jake finished off the 2016 race season with a win and the 2016 Bandolero Championship at NHMS. “It was a dream come true to be the 2016 Bandolero Champ and by far the most rewarding season our team has had so far. I will really miss competing in the Bandolero, it was a fun car to run.”
The 2015 race season at Wiscasset Speedway gets underway this weekend on Saturday, April 18th and, Wyatt Alexander of Ellsworth, Maine will be there in the #96 Pro-stock.
Over the winter months Wyatt has kept busy, “In the off season I have been focusing on my school work and playing some indoor soccer, and of course preparing the car for the 2015 season.”
There is a number of track in New England that Super Late Models race at, like Wiscasset Speedway, and Oxford Plains Speedway, as well as the two super late model touring series, Pro All Stars Series (PASS)and the Granite State Pro-Stock Series “Our plans are to try our hand at a few different tracks and series and learn as much as possible. I will be racing the Super Late Model full time and possibly a couple other divisions throughout the year.” (more…)
The 2013 PASS North Champion, Travis Benjamin of Morrill, Maine is gearing up for the PASS season opener at Oxford Plains Speedway, on April 18th. “My crew and I are really excited to get the 2015 season started at Oxford. Yes we have our car 95% done just need to put a set up in it.”
Travis has kept busy over the winter, “In the off season just working at Belfast Variety, playing some basketball and getting the go karts and car ready for the summer.”
Travis will be busy this season, “The plans for the Benjamin Motorsports race team this summer, is to run most if not all of the PASS Series we will also try to defend our title at the Re/Max 250 and we will be racing go karts as much as possible as well.”
