Barre, Vt. – Barre’s Thunder Road hosts the 33rd running of the M&M Beverage Enduro 200 this Sunday, August 6. “The People’s Race” is one of the most popular on the schedule every year and is shaping up for another successful outing in 2017.
The event routinely draws 100 entries or more with the field full of amateur racers looking to tackle the Barre high banks. Cars will be lined up three-wide to start and there are no yellow flags during the event. The winner will take home $3,000 and bragging rights as the newest Enduro champion. Entry forms will be available the day of the event.

Barre, Vt. – Barre’s Christopher Pelkey came out on top of a classic battle with fellow hometown driver Cody Blake to win the Thunder Road Late Model feature at WDEV Radio/Calkins Portable Toilets Night on Thursday, August 20. It was the first career Late Model victory for the defending Rookie of the Year.
Pelkey originally got underneath polesitter Shawn Fleury to take the lead on lap 19 of the 50-lap event. Blake then drove around the outside to assume the top spot on lap 28, but the race’s lone caution with 14 laps to go for Eric Badore’s spin put the two side-by-side on the restart.

Barre, Vt. – Thunder Road motors into the month of August with WDEV Radio/Calkins Portable Toilets Night thisThursday, August 3. Four divisions of action will be on the card, with the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors all set to do battle on the Barre high banks.
The championship chases tightened up considerably at the Times Argus Mid-Season Championships, setting up a thrilling home stretch for the 2017 season. In the Thunder Road Late Models, Hinesburg’s Bobby Therrien remains the point leader, but saw his lead over South Burlington’s Trampas Demers shrink to just 11 markers. Therrien bounced off the wall early in last Thursday’s double-points event and had to fight back from a series of pit stops to finish sixth, while Demers took second to cut into the deficit. It was Demers’ fifth straight top-five finish.

Barre, Vt. – Boomer Morris started the second half of the 2017 Thunder Road season in a big way with a win in the Times Argus Mid-Season Championships on Thursday, July 27. The hometown driver went wire-to-wire in the 75-lap Late Model feature to capture his first win of the season and the Maplewood Triple Crown.
Morris, who entered the event 17th in points after a number of hard wrecks in the first part of the year, started on the pole after winning his heat and the semi-feature. He drove away from the field for most of the event, holding on easily through four mid-race restarts as Montpelier’s Kyle Pembroke and Barre’s Cody Blake engaged in an extended battle for the second spot.

Barre, Vt. – Barre’s Thunder Road closes out the month of July with the annual Times Argus Mid-Season Championships this Thursday, July 27. Double points will be on the line in all events for the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks, giving the night the potential to be a deciding factor in many drivers’ championship hopes.
All three divisions will run extra-distance features, highlighted by a 75-lap main event for the Late Models. But with twice as many points going to all positions – including 150 points for the feature winner versus 75 points for winning a regular weekly event – drivers know they will need to get to the front in order to maintain their spot in the standings or to make a move.

Barre, Vt. – Hometown driver Jason Corliss captured his second Thunder Road Late Model win of the season on Thursday, July 20, taking the lead just past the halfway point and holding on for the win on FairPoint Communications Night.
Corliss threaded his way through the field from his 11th starting position before a lap-27 caution brought him alongside polesitter Boomer Morris. After grabbing the lead on the restart, Corliss outgunned point leader Bobby Therrien in the closing circuits for his sixth career win.
