Groveton, NH – Eddie “The Outlaw” MacDonald took the lead from Nick Sweet just past the halfway mark and never looked back en route to his second American-Canadian Tour (ACT) win of the season in the Central Asphalt Paving Generation Next 151 at Groveton, NH’s Speedway 51 on Saturday, June 18.
The Rowley, MA driver started seventh and slowly worked his way through the field in the early stages of the caution-free event. After moving into second place on lap 66 following an extended battle with polesitter Brandon Atkins, MacDonald needed just eight laps to reel in Sweet. He moved to the outside groove a few laps later, assuming the top spot on lap 78 and cruising to his first ACT win at the ¼-mile oval.

WILLIAMSTON, SC (June 17) – Roger Lee Newton inherited the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model win after a wild finish, while John Smith played the right strategy for his first Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) win Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway. For Newton, the Concord, NC veteran was in the right place when leaders Matt Craig and Dalton Sargeant made contact on the final lap to claim his third career PASS South Super Late Model victory.
“To be in this position after where we started today, we changed everything but the seat in this car,” said Newton afterwards. “Man, the crew worked their butts off today. I don’t give up on them and they don’t give up on me, it’s a team. The last four or five races has taken a lot of wind out of our sails and we were about to quit racing. I don’t like to win this way, but we will take them however we can get them.”

Lee, NH – The cars and stars of the Northeast Street Stock Tour (NESST) were the added attraction at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, joining the NASCAR Whelen All American Series season weekly divisions for a full night of entertainment on the fast 3/8ths mile oval.
When the NESST main went green, Lowell, MA racer Steve Kenneway, the 2013 Thompson Speedway Limited Sportsman champion, moved out quickly to set the pace, with Joe Arena of Bristol, CT up to challenge by the ten lap mark The lead duo ran side by side battling for the lead for the next several laps, and stayed that way approaching the crossed flags.
Kenneway and Arena ran nearly even for the first half of the race, with Kenneway sliding around the high groove, but maintaining the advantage as Arena worked the low side. The pair were several car lengths ahead of the field and off the decide the race among themselves, and it was Arena who eventually prevailed to collect the win.

Barre, VT – Eric Badore of Milton held off a pair of challengers early, then pulled away late to claim his second care Late Model victory on Casella Waste Systems Night at Thunder Road. Badore also won his heat race and the semi-feature to earn the second Maplewood Triple Crown of his Late Model career.
Badore and pole-sitter Jason Allen of Barre waged a side-by-side battle at the front of the pack for the first 10 laps of the race. Eric Chase of Milton took over second after Allen spun out on lap 32 to bring out the second caution of the evening on lap 32. Chase led by a nose on the outside on the restart following the caution flag, but Badore regained the top spot and stayed in front for the rest of the way.
Phil Scott of Middlesex and Nick Sweet of Barre moved through the field together but couldn’t run down Badore. Scott finished second and Sweet third. Rounding out the top 10 were Scott Dragon, Cody Blake, Nick Sweet, Jason Corliss, Trampas Demers, Kyle Pembroke, and David Whitcomb.

CHARLOTTE, NC (June 16) – The best racers in the south will be busy this weekend as the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models will compete on back-to-back nights for the first time in series history this weekend. The PASS Carolina Doubleheader will see the South’s original Super Late Model tour compete for 125 laps on Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina before moving across the border on Saturday night to Hickory Motor Speedway for the 10th Running of the Over The Mountain 150.
Hickory has a long and storied history, not just for stock car racing in general, but for PASS South as well. PASS set the standard for Super Late Model racing in the region when PASS South was launched at Hickory in 2006 with the inaugural running of the Easter Bunny 150. Since then, Hickory Motor Speedway has hosted the PASS South Super Late Models nearly 30 times, the most of any track on the schedule.
One driver hoping to score his first win in one of this weekend’s doubleheader events is Trey Jarrell. The young driver from Martinsville, VA has been impressive in a limited number of starts with PASS, but not any more than he was this past March at Hickory in the Easter Bunny 150. Jarrell traded the lead back-and-forth with eventual winner, Ben Rowe, showing that he has what it takes to win on one of short track racing’s biggest stages. Jarrell and the Mark Reedy racing team head into the weekend brimming with confidence that they can get their first PASS South win.
