SEEKONK, Mass. – Brad Keselowski Racing development driver Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished sixth in the PASS North Series 150 at Seekonk Speedway in his debut with Mulkern Racing on Saturday, August 4. Theriault was running in the Top-3 at Lap 100 when he lost power steering in the No. 18 Southern Maine Motors/Community Pharmacies Chevrolet for the final third of the event. Theriault, 18, rallied on the short, rough race track to finish in the Top-10 in his first PASS North Series event since 2010.

DJ Shaw picks up Seekonk’s PASS North 150 victory

Gerry D wins LM main. Barry Shaw Jr claims first Sport Truck win, Lineham again in the Sam’s Club Streets

Center Conway NH’s D.J. Shaw admitted in Victory Lane that he wasn’t looking forward to the Pro All Stars Series returning to The Action Track of the East. “I didn’t like the track, we just never seem to run well here.” is what the winning driver had to say. But that perception has all changed now, as the post-race victory photos were taken.

Three time Seekonk winner Ryan Vanasse and former PASS Champion Ben Rowe brought the 27 car field down with Vanasse setting the pace for the first several laps before six time Seekonk Champion Fred Astle took over after a lap 11 restart. Astle led for several laps before Derek Ramstrom took over the lead. As the race reached the mid-point, it was apparent that there would not be a Seekonk Pro Stock regular carrying the checkers, as the only regular remaining in the top five was pole sitter Ryan Vanasse, who was sitting in the fifth position.

Laperle Dominates for Second Straight Castrol Win

Vallee-Jct., QC – St-Denis, QC’s Patrick Laperle dominated on his way to his second straight Série ACT Castrol win at Autodrome Chaudiere on Friday, August 3. The defending Castrol Champion lapped all but the top five of the 18 car field, while leading the final 111 laps of the 150 lap event.

Former Castrol Champion Karl Allard jumped out to the point from the outside pole after the initial green. However, his lead was short lived as Donald Theetge used the outside line to take over the lead on lap 9. Theetge broke away from the field and built himself a healthy lead over the next 30 laps. Coming off of turn four to complete the 39th circuit, Theetge unexpectedly slowed and coasted to a stop, bringing out the first caution. Theetge’s day would be over due to distributor issues.

Dennis Demers Wins Father-Son Showdown

Gonyaw, Smith Take Feature Victories

Barre, VT – Shelburne’s Dennis Demers showed his son, and the rest of the Late Model field, how it was done on WDEV/WLVB/Calkins night at Thunder Road on Thursday, August 2. Demers was chased by late charging Nick Sweet and South Barre’s Mike “Beatle” Bailey to the checkers.

Jeffersonville’s Joey Becker took the early lead from pole-sitter Bailey, but it only took until lap 12 for Bailey to find his groove in the outside lane and reclaim the lead. Bailey ran from the field while father-son duo Dennis and Trampas Demers stormed through the field nose to tail from mid-pack. By lap 20 the pair had reached second and third and engaged in a no-holds-barred family duel for the second position. Father Dennis Demers on the high side, son Trampas below, they battled it out until lap 30 when Dennis finally surged ahead. Seven laps later he slipped underneath Bailey for the lead, while point-leader Nick Sweet methodically picked off the top five one by one in the last ten laps of the race. Sweet broke up the family affair by claiming second in the closing laps, leaving Bailey to third place, Trampas Demers to fourth, and Brooks Clark to round out the top five. Three-time Champion Phil Scott finished sixth, and Becker, Chip Grenier, Eric Chase, and Cody Blake rounded out the top ten.
