Claremont, N.H. — Rowan Pennink of Huntingdon Valley, PA., survived six caution periods and three red flags to win the 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series event, Saturday night, at Twin State Speedway, Claremont, NH.The victory was Pennink’s third with the VMRS and his first of the 2011 season.
Chris Pasteryak, Lisbon, CT., and Jon McKennedy, E. Chelmsford, MA., brought the field to green with McKennedy jumping into the lead until Pasteryak took over the top spot on lap four. Pasteryak then set the pace before turning over the lead to Pennink on lap 39. Pennink led the remaining 60 laps to secure the win.

Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl Race Preview

THE STORY
Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., takes a break from ACT Late Model Tour racing to compete in the Memorial Day Classic 100 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Sunday, May 29. Though the track is a hub for ACT, this event is a non-points event geared toward the quarter-mile’s Tour-legal Late Model division. Dragon was the 2006 champion of this event. Once again, he will be competing with his own Dragon Motorsports-owned No. 55 car, the same car he took to Devil’s Bowl Speedway last weekend.

$20-per-car general admission fan appreciation special for second PASS National event of 2011
PASS South gets back on track this Saturday May 28 at one of the country’s finest short tracks, the ultra fast Motr Mile Speedway, just outside of Radford Virginia. The Motor Mile race is round two of the six race PASS National Championship battle, and series President Tom Mayberry has colaborated with the speedway to offer up a special thank you to Motor Mile and PASS South fans.

Barre, VT – Thunder Road has announced the first annual Thunder Road Home Run Derby scheduled as part of “Kid’s Day” during the Harvest Equipment program on Sunday, June 19.
Kids ages 12 and under who wear a baseball hat or shirt to Thunder Road this Sunday, May 29 and on Sunday, June 12 will be able to sign up for the Home Run Derby drawing at the announcer’s tower. During intermission of the Sunday, June 12 event six (6) names will be drawn randomly.

Thunder Road practice session a bonus for many teams
Waterbury, VT – Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl fans will see lots of talent during the twin 100 lap events at the Mekkelsen Memorial Day Classic Twin 100’s on Sunday, May 29, 2011. Following a three-hour practice session under perfect weather conditions this week, there is a new corps of Thunder Road racers poised to challenge the veteran teams.
