Divisional Champions Lead 2011 Thunder Road Rookie Class

Barre, VT – The 2011 Thunder Road stock car season will see three divisional track champions enter the Rookie of the Year running at the next level. While the champions will lead the way, the majority of the rookie class will be made up of new faces at the “Nation’s Site of Excitement.”

“The 2011 rookie class is shaping up with a lot of new drivers, which is a different from seasons past. Normally we see a lot more movement through the divisions, but this season the new faces will add a new dynamic,” said Thunder Road Promoter Tom Curley. “It’s always exciting watching new drivers develop.”

THUNDER ROAD REGULARS DEFEND TURF IN MERCHANTS BANK 150

Waterbury, VT – The 13th annual Merchants Bank 150 will open the new season at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday, May 1, 2011. There is no track on the American Canadian Tour (ACT) schedule that presents a bigger challenge to the ACT regular touring teams than Thunder Road and its regular teams. As many as eight (8) former Thunder Road “King of the Road” champions are expected to be at the opening event.

Defending ACT Champion and 2011 point leader coming out of the opening event at Lee USA Speedway, Brian Hoar said, “I have had some pretty good success over the years at Thunder Road, I even won the King of the Road title in 1999, but that seems like a long, long time ago.”

PASS NORTH season goes green at Beech Ridge Saturday

Naples ME (4/25) The 2011 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North campaign goes green at Scarborough Maine’s famed Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday April 30 with all three PASS touring series on track for the first time this season. Every team is tied for the points lead and a good start to the yearl builds momentum for the races to come.

Bassett, Five-Star, Racing Electronics and Race Basics Continue ACT Contingency Programs in 2011

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour will continue contingency programs from Bassett Race Wheels, Five-Star Race Car Bodies, Racing Electronics and Race Basics Chassis for the 2011 season. These four companies provide product certificates for each event on the ACT Late Model Tour and the Série Castrol Edge, as well as contribute to the yearly point funds.

Five-Star Race Car Bodies of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin has been working with ACT the longest of the four companies. They started their program with ACT in 1991 and they’ve signed on through the 2013 season. Along with certificates for body parts for each ACT event they also raffle off a certificate for a full body at the annual Banquet of Champions held each January.

Valenti Modified Series Ready For Monadnock Spring Dash

Canaan, NH. — The April tradition of the Valenti Modified Racing Series appearing at
Monadnock Speedway, Winchester, (NH) continues Saturday night, April 30, when the
popular touring division, now in it’s eighth year, invades the Monadnock Speedway,
Winchester, (NH), for the running of the “Spring Dash 100.” The annual event is the
second of a 17-race schedule for New England’s premier modified series.

Last year’s April winner, five-time VMRS winner, Dwight Jarvis, of Ascutney, (VT), and current point leader Chris Pasteryak, of Lisbon (CT), lead the list of entries. Drivers from throughout New England and New York are also expected.
