CHARLOTTE, NC (3/5) – The winter months are hard for everybody. Weather extremes and fewer hours of daylight are just a few of the reasons people choose to stay inside at this time of year. For race fans and competitors winter can be downright excruciating. Not only is it cold outside, but there’s no racing to be found anywhere.
But, with Spring just a few days away, the smell of burning rubber and race fuel abounds as Pro All Star Series (PASS) South Super Late Model teams begin testing at short tracks throughout the Southeast. Teams will soon put together all the things they’ve learned during the off season when the 2011 PASS South season begins on March 11-12 with the Electric City 150 at the Anderson (SC) Motor Speedway. Waterbury, VT – After competing in one of the closest Rookie of the Year battles in American Canadian Tour (ACT) history, Windham, Maine’s Brad Babb and Fort Kent, Maine’s Austin Theriault are ready for 2011. The two finished just three points apart in the 2010 Rookie of the Year standings.
Babb came out on top of the standings and claimed the 2010 ACT Rookie of the Year honors after capturing his first career top five in the season finale at Waterford (CT) Speedbowl. With the help of his crew chief and father, Bobby, a former ACT competitor, he also earned an impressive sixth place in the 2010 ACT standings.

NAPLES ME (2/23) CV Products of Thomasville, North Carolina has entered into an agreement to become the official trackside support provider for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South super late model series in 2011. The well established and recognized company currently supplies this important service for many forms of motorsports. Their expansion to PASS South marks a major commitment to short track racers throughout the southeast.
In making the announcement, PASS President Tom Mayberry said “ CV Products has agreed to fullfill a very important role for our PASS South competitors. They’ll be sending a team of short track parts specialists with a fully stocked parts truck to each of our events in 2011, and the advantage of knowing that they will be there to service the needs of our race teams is big. Their participation allows teams to reduce inventory in their trailers, knowing that all of the consumable supplies and basic components they may need will always be available trackside. Teams can also place parts orders for delivery to the race, saving on ever increasing freight costs. CV represents over 500 parts lines and they are always adding new products. Busch Sport Scene Publisher George Campbell will be signing copies of his new book, Busch North Scene: A Ten Year Retrospective at the Racin’ Preview 2011 show this weekend at the Portland Expo in Portland, Maine.
The Busch North Scene book was released in late November with a book launch that was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in auburn, Maine. Since then the book has been a very popular seller among race fans from the New England region. The “Ten Year Retrospective” book recaps the racers, teams and events that shaped the NASCAR Busch North Series during the 2000 decade. The book has fun and informative personal reflections from George and Busch North Scene staff members, as well as many of the personalities that made the series popular in the decade. (more…)
