Waterbury, VT – The third annual “Showdown at Chaudiere” at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, Quebec will feature 12 drivers from the Quebec-based Série ACT Castrol Edge versus 12 drivers from the American-based ACT Late Model Tour this Saturday, August 28. The 24 car field will battle for a purse of over $35,000 including a $500 per driver bonus for the winning team and $5,000 to the winner.
The Canadian team will be led by current point leader Karl Allard of St-Felicien, Quebec who has won five Série ACT Castrol Edge features already in 2010 including two 150 lap events at Autodrome Chaudiere. He will be joined by the 2008 Showdown winner Patrick Laperle, Jean-François Déry, rookie Jimmy Cormier, Gaëtan Lauzier, rookie Alex Labbe, Claude Leclerc, Jonathan Desbiens, Patrick Cliche, Jacques Poulin, Patrick Hamel and 2009 Série ACT Castrol Champion Donald Theetge.

Naples ME (8/22) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS ) South super late models get back at it in earnest this weekend as the east’s fastest full fender short trackers make their annual Virginia stop on Saturday August 28 at “America’s Hometown Track”, South Boston Speedway.
The exotic super late models will tour the 4/10 mile oval for 150 green flag laps, headlining an exciting program that will feature twin 75’s for the NASCAR Whelen Late Models and a 75 lap feature for the Rolling Thunder modifieds.

Special 75-lap Late Model Feature on Final Thursday
Barre, VT – This Thursday, August 26 will be the final Thursday Night event on the 2010 Thunder Road International Speedbowl schedule and the deciding event in the Late Model “King of the Road” battle. Three Late Model drivers have separated themselves from the field and will tackle the Barre highbanks one last time in a special 75 lap Late Model feature presented by Aubuchon Hardware to conclude the 2010 championship hunt.
Current point leader Dave Pembroke of Montpelier has held the points lead since the third event of the season but has never seen his lead grow to more than 22 points. The 2007 Thunder Road track champion now has a 2 point lead going into the final race for the championship.

Aug 24, 2010 | North East Mini Stock Tour
The North East Mini Stock Tour will be making their first appearance at Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH on October 16 and 17 for TSS’ Fall Challenge Weekend. The event will be the ninth and final event for the NEMST in 2010. The NEMST will bring its challenging full bodied minis into western New Hampshire for 50 green flag laps where the 2010 Champion will be crowned. After a few phone calls and email’s NEMST director Bob Guptill and Mike Parks of TSS got the deal confirmed over the weekend.
With the average car count growing and growing the NEMST will provide excellent racing on the challenging 1/3 mile oval. With most race seasons starting to wind down the NEMST is headed into full swing with races at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on September 12, Seekonk Speedway on October 2, and Unity Raceway on October 10 before coming to a head at TSS on the following weekend.

NAPLES ME (8/23) Pro All Stars Series point leader Johnny Clark got back to his winning ways Saturday night, claiming his fourth PASS super late model win of 2010 at Caribou Maine’s Spud Speedway. The defending series champ topped Trevor Sanborn and Scott Chubbuck to earn the victory.
Clark took over the lead on lap 25 after starting twelfth on the grid and kept his Clark’s Car Crushing Chevrolet out front to the checkers

Waterford, CT – Hudson, New Hampshire’s Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, Jr. earned his sixth career ACT Late Model Tour win in the Nutmeg State 100 at Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, CT on Saturday, August 21. Pole started in the third position and worked his way around Brent Dragon and Waterford regular Jeff Smith to take the lead on lap 31. He would lead the remainder of the 100 lap event.
ACT Tour point leader and defending champion Brian Hoar came from the 12th starting position to take second while Dragon had to settle for third. Smith held on for fourth while Mark Lamberton completed the top five. Jeff Zuidema, rookie Brad Babb, John Donahue, Randy Potter, and Bruce Thomas, Jr. rounded out the top ten.
