Brian Hoar Wins Riverside Can-Am

St-Croix, QC – Williston, Vermont’s Brian Hoar won the Circuit Riverside Speedway Can-Am combination Série ACT Castrol Edge and ACT Late Model Tour event on Saturday, August 14. Hoar, the current ACT Late Model Tour point leader, fought his way by current Série ACT Castrol Edge point leader Karl Allard on lap 94 and led the remainder of the event. The scheduled 200 lap event had to be cut back to 171 due to a curfew.

 

Patrick Laperle took second followed by Donald Theetge while Allard fell back to fourth and Brent Dragon rounded out the top five. Rookie Austin Theriault finished sixth followed by Sylvain Lacombe, Patrick Hamel, John Donahue and Daniel Descoste completing the top ten.

Johnny Clark: PASS North Series – Seekonk Speedway Race Preview

PASS North Series points leader Johnny Clark of Farmingdale, Maine, rolls off to the PASS North Series PASS 150 at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Mass., on Saturday, August 14. It’s just the second time the series visits the tight .333-mile track affectionately known as the “Cement Palace.” Clark is coming off back-to-back finishes outside the top-5 and hopes to get back on track at Seekonk, where he finished third last year in his lone career start there. The four-time series champion Clark nurses a 10-point lead over Ben Rowe atop the PASS North standings with four races remaining.

78 ACT TEAMS HEAD FOR NHMS TEST & TUNE

Waterbury, VT – The American Canadian Tour (ACT) has confirmation from seventy eight (78) Late Model teams that are scheduled to test and tune at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) Tuesday, August 17 and Wednesday, August 18 in hopes of getting an invitation back for the second annual ACT Invitational to be held September 18, 2010.

The test and tune session will have representatives from all six New England states, New York State and the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario. Leading the count will be teams from Thunder Road and the US ACT in Vermont with 20; Maine, with a strong Oxford Plains Speedway contingent, is not far behind with 16 teams; New Hampshire will have 13 teams representing White Mountain Motorsports Park, Lee USA Speedway and Twin State Speedway; Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island will send 12 teams with ACT affiliate tracks Waterford Speedbowl and Seekonk Speedway represented; the Quebec ACT Castrol Serie will send 10 of its stars to the test and tune from tracks in the Montreal and Quebec City regions; veteran Mark Lamberton will represent New York State; and Ontario, with representation from Kawartha Speedway and Capital City in Ottawa, will send 5 teams to the session.

PASS is off to Seekonk for a Super Late Model/Pro Stock showdown

NAPLES ME ( 8/10) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North super late model circuit makes its lone Bay State stop of 2010 this Saturday night August 14 when they take on the home track heroes of Seekonk Speedway, and the touring racers will be looking to even the score in Saturday nights’ 150 lap shootout.

The PASS stars made their first ever appearance at the birthplace of the Pro Stock in 2009 and the Seekonk regulars put a whipping on them. Cement Palace regular Tom Scully Jr upset Ben Rowe and Johnny Clark, scoring the win for the home team. The top ten was dotted with Seekonk regulars Dave Darling, Fred Astle, Rick Martin and Dave Hutchins, too. In fact, Hutchins and Ray Parent both led the event before Scully Jr. took over to capture the win.

Taber Gagne Wins M&M Beverage Enduro at Thunder Road

Tim Campbell Takes Allen Lumber Street Stock Special

Barre, VT – Swanton’s Taber Gagne earned the $3,000 pay day in the 26th Annual M&M Beverage 200 at Barre’s Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday, August 8. The former Airborne Speedway Tiger Sportsman competitor was the only driver to complete all 200 laps. A total of 104 cars from all over the Northeast were on hand to take their shot at the top prize.

Tim Campbell of West Topsham earned his fifth win of the 2010 Thunder Road Allen Lumber Street Stock season in the 50 lap M&M Beverage special. Campbell worked his way into the lead just before the halfway point from his seventeenth starting position. He would hold off a hard charging Mike MacAskill, who won last season’s Street Stock special, without giving up the lead for the remainder of the event.

McKinstry Ties Win Record at Wiscasset

The rookie Chris McKinstry is hot! Chris started dead last on a 19 car field and showed the local favorites and NEMST veterans that he can hang too. 22 cars showed up to Wiscasset for the first NEMST event of the year at the 3/8 mile short track. There are now 3 drivers tied with the all time NEMST win record, the aforementioned McKinstry, Justin Trombley and 2009 champion Emerson Cayer.

The heat races were run early in the afternoon with Tour new comer Adam Polvinen and veteran Justin Trombley taking the wins. Polvinen was making his second ever NEMST start. With the feature line up set the NEMST rolled onto the track as the final feature of the day.
