Waterbury, VT – NASCAR Sprint Cup rising star David Ragan, driver of the UPS car for Rousch-Fenway, will race at Barre, Vermont’s Thunder Road in the Vermont State Employees Credit Union (VSECU) 100-lap final Thursday summer event on August 27th.
Barre, VT – Shelburne’s “Hurricane” Jamie Fisher captured his 15th career Late Model win at Thunder Road and his first during the 50th Anniversary Season. Fisher took the lead from Tony Andrews with just under 10 laps remaining and held on through two late restarts to secure the win. Andrews would hold on for second followed by Joey Becker, Doug Murphy and Dave Pembroke.
On August 15th, the Golden State Racing Team and NASCAR Diversity Driver Katie Hagar get back on track after having a month off from the New Stockton 99 Speedway. The team started their Saturday morning with a team breakfast held at the Jordan’s house/ race shop. “ We wanted to get the team together after having so much time off and start the day in a positive way…” said Hagar. Still holding onto the track record, Katie and GSR went into the twin 50 lap main events with her back-up car, finishing a clean 7th and 8th place finish.
Naples ME (August 18) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) returns to Canaan Fair Speedway this weekend after a three year hiatus, and the Sunday afternoon August 23rd show could easily play out as another case of the home track super late model racers versus the travelling PASS road show.

rolled into town for the running of the Ollie Silva Memorial Classic
75-lapper at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, and the Supers entertained
the capacity crowd with a spectacular show.
Barre, VT – Charlotte’s Rich Lowrey won for the second time in three events in the Late Model division at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. Lowrey’s win on Pepsi Night was his second feature win of the 2009 season, along with his win last Thursday night, August 6. Dave Whitcomb led the majority of the race before losing the battle with Lowrey in the final two laps. Whitcomb held on for second followed by Jamie Fisher in third. Grant Folsom and Cris Michaud rounded out the top five. Jean-Paul Cyr widens his lead in the championship point standings with his sixth place finish. Nick Sweet finished seventh followed by Matt White, Craig Bushey and Jerry Lesage.
