KING RICHARD PETTY COMING TO THUNDER ROADS 50TH ANNIVERSARY

       Waterbury, VT – Richard Petty, stock car racing’s all-time Champion, will
appear at Barre’s Thunder Road as part of the track’s season-long 50th
Anniversary Celebration on Thursday Night, July 30th.  The 7-time National
Champion, and record 7-time Daytona 500 mile winner, holds the record of 200
major wins in what is now the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  His closest rival
on that win list is David Pearson at 105, with Cale Yarborough and Bobby
Allison tied for third at 84.

HAGAR RACES IN ROUND 1 OF THE HOTWOOD 333 FINISHING WITH ANOTHER STRONG TOP 5 FINISH

The GS Racing team put together a good night of racing with Katie Hagar in the “Hot Wood” 111 lap feature. She  qualified 10th out of the 17 car field which had six NASCAR late model champions representing All American Speedway, Altamont Motorsports Park, Stockton 99 Speedway and the reining Madera champion. Katie raced in the lead pack all night holding the 3rd position most of the way. With a few late cautions Katie brought the car home clean to a fifth place finish tying her previous best finish of the year. She currently is fifth in the points at Madera Speedway. We are off next weekend and will return to action on April 25th.

PASS South Easter Bunny 150: Two in a Row for Rowe

Hickory NC – ( April 11)  Ben Rowe hung out at the front of the pack for the first 116 laps of Saturday night’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway,  but on lap 117 he turned on the jets , moving past Lonnie Sommerville for the final time to take down the win. The Turner Maine hot shoe joined his dad Mike Rowe as an Easter Bunny 150 winner. Rowe also takes the early lead in the PASS National Championship standings as The Easter Bunny 150 was designated as round one of the four race series for 2009.

Ickler Takes Opener At Greenville Pickens

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Brian Ickler is hoping to use the NASCAR Camping World Series East as a launching pad. Performances like Saturday night at historic Greenville Pickens Speedway certainly don’t hurt his cause, as Ickler led nearly every lap from start to finish in winning the season opening NASCAR Home Tracks 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet.
