CHARLOTTE NC (March 6, 2008) The birth of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model division came about in a very unconventional way. While the PASS North Super Late Models were enjoying success, Super Late Model racing in the Carolinas was all but dead. Only three tracks were running the division full-time and Concord Motorsport Park was struggling to revitalize the Big 10 Series. Through a series of chance conversations, PASS President Tom Mayberry decided to give it a go in January of 2006 and created PASS South. With only a few weeks before the first series race at Hickory Motor Speedway, the odds were against everybody involved.

Leavitt Racing Components partners with PASS Super Late Models

NAPLES ME – (March 5, 2008) Leavitt Racing Components is the latest motorsports company to team with The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) as a supporting manufacturer.

Leavitt Racing Components will award a $50.00 product certificate to the 5th place finisher in every 2008 PASS North and South super late model event. An additional $50.00 certificate will be presented to the driver who most improves their starting position when the checkered flag flies. Plus, one lucky driver who participates in 85% of each series’ races will receive a $250.00 product certificate, chosen by random draw.

A recent poll of stock car racing media members and veteran observers was conducted by Speed51.com, a national short track racing news website, asking panelists to predict the future and pick the Top 10 point drivers across ten of the top touring divisions in the United States. The American-Canadian Tour’s Late Model Championship series was part of that poll, and it should probably come as no surprise that perennial ACT King Jean-Paul Cyr was ranked number one.

 WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA – American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car driver Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, QC was
named the “Best Northeast Touring Racer” at the second annual SpeedwayEXPO trade show, Sunday, March 2, at the
Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA.  Laperle recovered from a life threatening blood infection last
year to win a pair of events and the Série ACT Castrol championship.  He also won twice on the ACT Late Model
Tour: the Summer Sizzler 200 at Ontario’s Kawartha Speedway and the 44th Annual Chittenden Milk Bowl at Vermont’s
Thunder Road.
