Fort Kent Teen Named Maine Driver Of The Year For 2012
AUGUSTA, Maine – Austin Theriault added another laurel to his already impressive resume, as the Fort Kent, Maine, native was named the 2012 Driver Of The Year during the Maine Vintage Race Car Association (MVRCA) annual Hall Of Fame induction ceremony and banquet on Saturday, April 6, at the Augusta Civic Center.
Theriault, 19, competed full-time on the ACT Late Model Tour last season while also running several races for Brad Keselowski Racing and making two PASS North Series starts.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be named the MVRCA ‘Driver of the Year,’” Theriault said after competing in a Southern Super Series for Super Late Models at the historic Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday night. “It’s humbling to have your name up there with so many of the great names that are part of this sport. I want to thank everyone who was involved in the selection process.” (more…)

The Pro All Stars Series tour kicks off their 2013 season at Oxford Plains Speedway on April 21st. Defending champion Travis Benjamin, is looking forward to the green flag. “Being a PASS champion is a great accomplishment!! There has only been 3 other drivers that can say that. I’ve worked my whole life to win the championship in some kind of sport and now I can say that I’m a champion!!”
Though the off season hasn’t been all fun and games… actually it has been as Travis has hit the hoops in his spare time. “This off season I’ve just been working a lot at Belfast Variety and during the off season I play a lot of basketball. There’s been two leagues in Belfast, one league in Ellsworth and another in Waterville. So that keeps me in shape.”

PASS South Series: Austin Theriault
Hickory Motor Speedway Race Report
HICKORY, N.C. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, overcame an early handling issue to finish sixth in the PASS South Series Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, N.C., on Saturday, March 30. After posting the fastest overall practice time from Saturday’s sessions and qualifying fourth for the 30-car field in the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Ford Fusion, Theriault started ninth after the redraw of the Top-10 qualifiers. He was happy with the car during the first green-flag run, but an issue with the air pressure in the right side tires forced the car into an ill-handling condition. The PASS South Series points leader heading into the weekend, Theriault rode around in the Top-10 for most of the night and used a couple of late caution flags to gain track position and salvage another good outing.
