Rolfe edges C. Martin by .001 of a second
in Oxford's second-closest finish ever
OXFORD, Maine – With the exception of an unforgettable ending that was ruled a dead heat between late Sportsman shoes Leland Kangas and Lee Day back in 1981, fans in Oxford Plains Speedway witnessed the closest top-division feature finish in the track's 58-year history Saturday night.
After two multi-time speedway champions swapped the lead seven times in a side-by-side battle that raged for more than 25 laps, Ricky Rolfe edged Carey Martin by one-thousandth of a second and unofficially reclaimed the Oxford Networks Late Model point lead in the process.

It's Brown by a body panel over Verrill in TD Banknorth 250,
ending Maine's 11-race winning streak at OPS summer classic
OXFORD, Maine – In one of the closest TD Banknorth 250 finishes ever, Roger Brown withstood a furious charge by Oxford Plains Speedway weekly competitor Dale Verrill out of the final corner to win the 34th annual short track extravaganza.
Brown, 28, of Lancaster, N.H., led all but one of the final 109 laps on his way to a $35,800 payday.
"It's unbelievable to think of myself on a list with guys like Dave Dion, Mike Rowe and Ralph Nason," said Brown, who groomed his talent in supporting divisions at Riverside Speedway in New Hampshire and Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Vermont before joining the American-Canadian Tour. "I'm sure I don't belong on that list."
No driver from outside Maine had won the OPS summer classic since 1995, when ACT stalwart Dave Whitlock capped a streak of three consecutive wins by Canadian drivers.

Sessions wins first after 6 years of trying;
Rose joins club of fast kids in Runnin' Rebels
OXFORD, Maine – Six years of persistence paid off Friday night for Kimberly Sessions.
With the largest Acceleration Series crowd of the season looking on as part of TD Banknorth 250 Weekend Presented By New England Dodge Dealers, Sessions sped to her first career win at Oxford Plains Speedway in the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Ladies feature.
Sessions wasn't the only first-time winner on Polly's Variety/D.R. Fournier Night. Calvin Rose Jr. became the third different 16-year-old high school student to capture a Macdonald Motors Runnin' Rebel main event this summer, echoing Josh Childs and Ryan Philbrick's previous rookie visits to victory lane.

Sessions, Mooney win thrillers; Adams extends
win streak to three in last TD Banknorth 250 tuneup
OXFORD, Maine – Hard to imagine the hottest late model driver in New England extending his winning streak to three heading into the biggest race of the year and getting upstaged.
Travis Adams had plenty of competition from Sumner Sessions and Don Mooney, though, for the spotlight and the headlines in one of the wildest Saturday nights imaginable at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Adams continued his recent custom of roaring up the outside and leaving the competition looking at a blur through their windshields. The reigning Oxford Networks Late Model champion won his third straight 40-lap feature and fifth of the season in 10 tries, matching his full-season win total of 2006.
It's a phenomenal achievement headed into what is essentially the all-star break for New England late models, but for sheer excitement, Adams' win over Don Wentworth and Brad Hammond wasn't even close to the top rung on Hilltop Pools & Spas Night.
