Last Saturday was warm at Wiscasset Speedway, although there was a threat of rain showers. The show slid smoothly along for the race fans gathered to watch, and the rain stayed at bay, giving the racers the chance to compete on the track. Presented Saturday were its group one lineup of divisions: Prostock, Super Stock, New England 4-cylinder Prostock, and Thunder 4. The flex race of the week was a one hundred lap Enduro race, which had over thirty entrants.
First on the track were the New England 4 Cylinder Prostock. This twenty-five lap feature provided a show. Starting in the pole position was Jeff Prindall in the No. 24. Behind him were Craig Dunn in the No. 8 and Dave Patten of the No. 12 Westbrook Dairy Queen car. When the green flag went down, Dunn surged ahead of Prindall on the outside. Prindall fought for position and slid ahead. The pair raced neck and neck around the track until lap two, when Dunn was able to gain a car length lead coming out of turn two.
During lap five, Prindall spun coming out of turn four, and dropped back in the pack. Moving up to take second was Dave Patten, and in third was the No. 54 of Kamren Knowles. Lap nine saw the No. 38 of Ryan Hayes pass Knowles on the inside of turn two for third.

Durham, Maine – Evan Beaulieu had a great night going during Saturday night’s Pro Series race at Beech Ridge Speedway and felt like it may finally be his night to get a victory. After struggling early in practice, the team dialed the car in for the final practice and Evan was able to drive away with his first heat win in a Super Late Model.
Starting from the pole position, Evan lead the races opening 22 laps, then contact from the 11 of Tyler King sent Evan’s No. 56 around in turn three and left the young racer to charge from the back and salvage a highly respectable 9th place finish.

By Lisa Maguire
Wiscasset Speedway had a lot of action last Saturday. On the roster was its group two lineup of divisions: Strictly Street, Mini Truck, Outlaw Mini’s, and Late Model Sportsman. The Wicked Good Vintage Racers were the flex race of the week. The bright lights of Wiscasset lit up the track just as the feature racing began. At the conclusion of six exciting races, the crowd cheered as the sky was lit up once again with a spectacular display of fireworks compliments of Central Maine Pyrotechnics.
First on the track were two Wicked Good Vintage Racer (WGVR) features. The first division was a twenty lap Late Model WGVR feature. In the pole position was the No. 87 driven by Larry Wade. Behind him was the No. 97 of Dean Grant and Scott Tucker’s No. OJR. There was an early caution in the race, and when the dust cleared, the No. 151 of Rose Gerry had moved to first. In second was the No. M16 of Mark Thurlow. Grant was in third place.
