Waterbury, VT – There will be no less than (13) thirteen former champion drivers entered in the 2012 ACT opener at Lee USA on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Between them they have accumulated 48 track and/or touring series championships during their careers. The annual opening New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway is expected to field the best opening day group of racers in its 22 event history.
Heading the list of former champions is Brian Hoar, Williston, VT. He is an (8) eight-time ACT Champion and also owns a Thunder Road and Airborne track championship. Hoar also is the defending NH Governor Cup winner. Jean-Paul Cyr, Milton, VT is a (7) seven-time ACT Champion and also is the 2010 Thunder Road track Champion. (more…)
Speedway 95 held it’s annual Spring pre-season car show at the Bangor Mall March 23, 24, and 25, with over 30 cars, drivers and crews displaying their 2012 racing machines. During the three day show, contests were held for the People’s Choice Award in each racing division represented, voted on by shoppers at the mall, as well as a contest for the Best Dressed Crew and a Best of Show award that took into consideration the overall appearance of the car, both interior and exterior, the appearance of the crew representing the car, and the display area the car was set up in. Independent judges from the local media, the mall staff and track personnel made up the panel for the awards. Series president, Mike Parks announced that on Sat June 23rd the GSPSS will make their
first appearance in the state of Maine. “Unity Raceway has a rich tradition of Pro Stock
racing and I am thrilled that we will be able to be a part of Unity’s schedule for 2012”
