One of the drivers you will see back at Unity Raceway, this season, is Amanda Terrill driver of the #23 in the Ladies Class. Unity maybe one of the Maine’s “Toughest Tracks” but, the ladies are up for the challenge. Amanda race for the 1st time in the series and finished the season in 3rd place and won “Rookie of the Year”. With one 2nd place finish and 4 3rd place finishes, Amanda is looking forward 2011 season and capturing that 1st career win in the Ladies Division.
RPM. What have you been doing in the off season?
Amanda. I took about a month off and then began the process of redoing the race car with help from Shadow Folsom, Ed Gilblair and Zach Audet, to get the car ready for the Augusta civic center show and the Portland Expo. When I’m not working on the race car I am either working or spending time with my 3 children, and also this winter I have made plans to go back to school and get my CNA after helping take care of one of Unity’s pit gate employee’s ( Charlie Lindsey) who fought a short battle with cancer.

”Oxford Plains Speedway to host “Awesome Auto and Bike Show”
OXFORD, Maine – It has been more than three years since Oxford Plains Speedway has been the site of a car/bike show but, that all ends on May 29, 2011 as the “Awesome Auto and BikeFest” makes it’s debut at the historic Oxford oval on Memorial Day weekend.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to once again play host to hundreds of classic car and bike enthusiasts from across northern New England” Speedway owner Bill Ryan said. “We’re working with Spencer Richie Owner and publisher of CruiseMaine and RideMaine magazines to bring a high caliber car and bike show back to the speedway.”

PORTLAND, Maine — Drivers with stock car racing ties to Maine will turn a new corner this weekend at Racin’ Preview 2011.
Nine drivers, including four-time PASS North Series champion Ben Rowe of Turner, Maine, will sign autographs at the American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life” booth during the two-day motorsports show at the Portland Expo, Feb. 25-26. (more…)

Portland, Maine — Mike Rowe, certain to become an MVRCA and NEAR Hall of Famer when he finally hangs up the helmet, is arguably the most successful racer in the history of Oxford Plains Speedway.
Rowe is the reigning Maine State champion for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, a crown he’s earned the past two seasons after scaling back his racing efforts a bit. He’s also earned touring series championships with the former ACT Pro Stock Tour and, more recently, PASS Super Late Model championships on both the South Series and National Championship Series. Scarborough’s Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is in its’ seventh decade of providing outstanding family entertainment, these days both with the traditional Saturday night racing program – dubbed NASCAR Nites – and their groundbreaking Thursday Thunder program, successfully imitated by many other Northeastern tracks after being pioneered by track operator Andy Cusack well over a decade ago.

OXFORD, Maine – Oxford Plains Speedway has unveiled its 2011 schedule highlighted by the TD Bank 250 on July 24, 2010. The schedule features 29 racing events between May and October.
“We are looking forward to a great 2011 at Oxford. Our season is highlighted not only with the TD Bank 250, but with two appearances by the American Canadian Tour, an appearance by the Modified Racing Series and two visits by the Pro All Star Series Super Late Models,” Speedway Owner Bill Ryan commented.
