(Hermon) Maine's Family Fun Track managed to get three heat races in before the rain started to fall on Saturday, August 16th, just as the Pro-Limited's had taken the field to begin their heat race. Despite a quick downpour, light rain continued to fall, as the staff, and crews attempted to dry the track. As a result, officials were unable to return to green flag conditions.

Wentworth by two over Metivier in dramatic Unrestricted title chase

Beattie, Blackwell, Thompson, Armington, Varney also crowned

OXFORD, Maine – Kyle Metivier did everything within his power to capture the JARRacing Photography Go Kart Series in the Unrestricted division, winning his second straight 20-lap feature to conclude the season Friday night.

Robbie Wentworth crossed the line exactly where he needed to finish to earn the title, however. A sixth-place finish left Wentworth with a two-point advantage in the age 16-and-up class.

RIPLEY'S & MODS HIGHLIGHT SATURDAY NIGHT AT WISCASSET

 
 
    Wiscasset Raceway has been billed as "Maine's fastest track" ever since Wilford Cronk first opened the gates in 1969. The large crowd that packed into the grandstands Saturday night, and waited out a near two hour rain delay, got to see a whole new level of speed as the True Value Modified Series invaded the coastal speed plant for the the Wiscasset Ford 100. The 600 horsepower ground shaking open-wheel cars put down lap times nearly a full second faster than the tracks fastest weekly division, circling the 3/8 mile highbank oval in just a tick over fourteen and a half seconds.

(Hermon, Me) Points leader Brenton Parritt of Steuben flipped over three laps into the Pro-Limited feature, the weekend at Maine’s family fun track, Speedway 95, Saturday, April 9th, drawing out the red flag. Parritt wasn’t injured, but left the race, allowing Duane Seekins of Stockton Springs to close the gap in the points standings with a win in the Pro-Limited race. Dale Swoboda of Hermon finished second, Dean Smart of Bradley took third.

Tompkins is Strictly marathon man, again


OXFORD, Maine – Tommy Tompkins elected not to defend his championship in the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy Strictly Stock division.

The unofficial title as reigning king of long-distance races in the class remains his, however.
Tompkins dominated the second half of the Allen's Coffee Flavored Brandy 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday night, outlasting B.J. Chapman and holding off Mike Short for his second Agren Appliance Triple Crown victory of the year.
His fourth victory of the season matched Short for the most among Strictly Stock drivers in that category. It also came one week after Tompkins' night ended with a hard crash into the front stretch wall.
