WHORF WINS PRO STOCK THRILLER AT WISCASSET SPEEDWAY by Ken Minott
April showers bring May flowers, but it also brought frustration to anxious race fans and drivers waiting to get the 2019 racing season started. After losing the first two races of the season to weeks of persistent rain, Wiscasset Speedway was finally able to get in a show on Saturday, May 4th. Group 1 got the call for their season opener, plus the first of three Enduros on the season schedule. Veteran racer Jeremie Whorff of Bath took home the victory in a wild finish to the 40 lap feature for the ServPro of Biddeford Saco Pro Stocks. Whorff was running 4th as the field stormed onto the front stretch to take the white flag. But the lead pair tangled sending drivers scrambling, and Whorff had the lead by the time they got to turn one.
Reid Lanpher, Curtis Gerry win non-stop 50-lap Super Late Model races at Oxford Plains Speedway
Oxford, Maine – Manchester’s Reid Lanpher and Curtis Gerry of Waterboro prevailed in a pair of caution-free, 50-lap Super Late Model main events Saturday afternoon at Oxford Plains Speedway, topping the Budweiser Championship Series stock car racing card at the popular .375-mile paved oval track.
Lanpher dominated the first race from his front row starting position, his fastest lap a quarter-second better than his nearest rival in the non-stop affair. Gerry, after starting fourth, was 2.714-seconds behind Lanpher, with polesitter Ryan Deane of Winterport earning third-place hardware.
Eddie MacDonald Posts 13th Place Finish in PASS Race at Oxford
Eddie Mac battled the new car blues in the Pro All Star Series’ Honey Badger Bar and Grill 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway, Maine on Sunday, April 28 to post a 13th place finish. With Saturday practice virtually wiped out by rain, the team simply did not have enough track time to ready the new Freddie Peterson owned Camaro for the event.
Tardiff opens new season with strong run at Oxford Tone set for 2019 as TMR Racing goes touring
OXFORD, Maine (Apr. 30, 2019) — After a late-season snowfall forced Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials to delay their second race of 2019 by two weeks, the sun broke out on Sunday as TMR Racing driver Alan Tardiff drove to a solid eighth-place finish in the Honey Badger Bar & Grill 150.
