The #17 Late Model “Flame” car driven by Eddie MacDonald to three ACT Invitational titles at NHMS, two Oxford 250 wins with countless victories throughout the northeast for over a decade took its place of honor in new North East Motor Sports Museum located a half-mile south of the entrance to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire.
“Words cannot describe how honored I am to have our car in this special place,” said Eddie Mac when delivering his car to the museum. “Dick Berggren came to the shop a few months ago to ask us to display the car at this incredible facility. Rollie (LaChance) and I quickly agreed that this car should be part of this historic collection of New England racing. It is truly humbling. I know racings fans who love our sport as much as we do will be thrilled sharing all the memories. This facility offers something for everyone.”
Oxford, Maine — Dave Farrington, Jr. of Jay celebrated his first-ever Oxford Plains Speedway Super Late Model victory Saturday night, topping the Budweiser Championship Series card at the historic Route 26 oval track.
A former champion and winner at NASCAR-sanctioned Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Farrington was no stranger to success on the grounds at OPS, where he earned dozens of race wins and a few championships on the smaller, backstretch karting track. Farrington had planned to race in the PASS Super Late Model race that was cancelled due to a dismal weather forecast in New Brunswick, but forecasted rain cut travel expenses, and paid off nicely. Oxford, Maine — Hometown racer and former track champion Dennis Spencer, Jr. turned in a dominant performance in the 50-lap Super Late Model feature race, topping the Budweiser Championship Series racing card Saturday night at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Turning in the fastest laps of the night despite the fact that key members of the crew were touring at an out-of-state racetrack, Spencer swapped the early race lead with fellow former multi-time track champion TJ Brackett of Buckfield before running away to victory by 4.79-seconds in a non-stop 50-lap race, completed in 13 minutes, 19.555 seconds.

Picture perfect skies welcomed the Northeastern Midget Association to Wiscasset Speedway Saturday night for Ames True Value NEMA Night. A packed house was on hand as well, with eager fans filling every spot in the parking lot to greet the fastest winged midgets in the world and their quest for a track record at Maine’s fastest track. When the double checkered flags flew at the end of the evening, the most talked about story in the pits was Paul Scally’s first NEMA win, breaking a long overdue streak for the family-owned team, taking down the win in the Lites class. In the NEMA Midget feature, John Zych proved he was the class of the field all day, coming from mid-pack for a dominant victory. Wiscasset Speedway’s Group 1 divisions finally got their season opener in, after 2 straight rainouts to start the year. Winners included Scott Chubbuck in the ServPro of Biddeford-Saco Prostocks; Logan Melcher in the Thunder 4 Minis; Kamren Knowles in the 4-Cylinder Pros; and Jason Oakes in the Super Streets.
