Rookie Driver Parker Brassard looks to make some Magic at NHMS!

Parker Brassard of Plainfield, CT., is the newest member of TS Motorsports race team. Parker is racing the #23 in the Gifford’s Ice Cream Bandolero Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). A rookie, Parker is learning a lot about the ins and outs of racing. “This is my first year racing anything. I haven’t even practiced with the bando on my own; I have done everything at NHMS.”

This is Parker’s first season racing. There is a big learning curve, but he has some good teammates such as Jordan “Iron Man” Lamothe, Shaun Buffington, and Tom Gray. “Jordan has helped me so much, whether he’s showing me the line or showing me where to brake. Shaun and Tom also give me great advice and help push my nerves aside and concentrate on the big picture.”

SCC Donates 25 Miles of Protein to NH Food Bank

IMG_6727-mdMANCHESTER, N.H. – Just how long are 320,000 hot dogs lined up end to end? Well, it’s enough to wrap around New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s 1.058-mile oval 25 times. That sure is a lot of protein. Now it’s up to New Hampshire Food Bank to distribute it, as it received on Wednesday 40,000 pounds of hot dogs on behalf of Speedway Children’s Charities New Hampshire Chapter and partner Smithfield.

The donation is part of Smithfield’s Helping Hungry Homes tour, the company’s coast-to-coast effort to help families and individuals become more food secure. Through this program, Smithfield, along with charities like SCC, has donated and delivered more than 25.4 million servings of protein to food-assistance organizations across the country.

Legend Racing Iron Man Jordan Lamothe

Fifteen year-old Jordan Lamothe of Woodstock, CT is becoming the Iron Man of Legend and Bandalero racing, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). Jordan’s last race weekend at NHMS he competed in two of the Moat Mountain Legends Road Course races, a Granite State Legends oval race, and got the win in the first-ever Gifford’s Ice Cream Bandolero race. “Yes, it was a long weekend but an awesome weekend for my first races on the oval.” With 16 road course legend races, 12 oval legend races, and 12 Bandolero races, plus heat races and practice Jordan will have over a thousand laps at NHMS, this season.

This upcoming weekend, the Legends and Bandoleros return to NHMS to race on the mini Magic Mile. Jordan adds, “Yes, I will be racing both Legends and Bandoleros this weekend!”

Officials Drop Green Flag on NH Restaurant Week

nhms_tag_11LOUDON, N.H. – Ladies and gentlemen, start your ovens! In front of New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association (NHLRA) dignitaries and Celebrity Chefs, New Hampshire Motor Speedway executive vice president and general manager Jerry Gappens officially waved the green flag on the beginning of NH Restaurant Week.

Standing on the Granite Stripe, which serves as the Magic Mile’s start/finish line, Gappens gave Celebrity Chefs personalized hand-engraved knives to commemorate the occasion.

Safe Drivers Rewarded with ‘Good Tickets’

nhms_tag_11MANCHESTER, N.H. – Bethany Moreau pulled up to the stoplight, waiting to make a right turn onto Lake Avenue next to the Verizon Wireless Arena. But when Manchester Police Department officers asked her to pull over for wearing her seat belt, a routine traffic stop turned into a lucky day for Moreau, close to 300 drivers rewarded with tickets to July’s New Hampshire 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Monday as part of the state’s Buckle Up NH campaign.

Magic Mile officials handed out “Good Tickets” to motorists who were seen wearing their seat belts by members of the MPD. Drivers were given two tickets to the New Hampshire 300 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on July 14 at NHMS.
