Sixteen Speedway Star Finalists Have Been Chosen To Perform Live

During FANtasy Drive Open House on April 7 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. (April 2, 2012) – The top-16 finalists for the Speedway Star singing competition have been chosen and will perform live during the FANtasy Drive Open House at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 7.

More than 50 of New England’s best singers entered but only the most talented 15 finalists were invited to the next round. The top contenders hailing from New Hampshire are: Samantha G. and Joshua Y. from Concord, Jodie C. Gilmanton, Alexis C. from Littleton, Jimmy L. from Manchester, Alan S. from Nashua, Colin W. from Newmarket, Megan T. from Nottingham, Cathy P. from Rochester, and Emma J. from Windham. From Massachusetts are Whitney D. from Fitchburg and Jillian C. from Haverhill followed by Maine-natives Bruce P. from Lebanon and Rosemary C. from Kennebunk.

Anastasia Volsko Promoted to Director of Events at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. (March 29, 2012) – The New Hampshire Motor Speedway family is proud to announce that Anastasia Volsko has been promoted to director of events at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, effective immediately. In less than a year on the team, Volsko has shown a winning combination of creativity, energy and skill in planning the major events around the race season.

As director of events, Volsko will be responsible for virtually every activity the fans will see on an event weekend except for the races themselves. Since recently filling in as the interim director, Volsko has risen to the challenge of planning the events for the upcoming season, according to Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway.

Statement on New Hampshire House Bill 593 Not Passing from Jerry Gappens, NHMS Executive Vice President and General Manager:

“I am disappointed in the decision by the House of Representatives to reject expanded gambling in New Hampshire,” says Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “In my opinion, this plan would have stimulated our state’s economy in a number of critical ways, including major tax cuts for businesses throughout the state. House Bill 593 would provide an immediate and significant boost to jobs, tourism and economic development.

Bond Auto to Sponsor American-Canadian Tour

Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. – They provide the parts that create a winning ride and now they’ll be there in victory lane no matter who wins the American-Canadian Tour race on Saturday, September 22. New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials announced today that Bond Auto, a New England based full service auto parts retail and wholesale store, will be the title sponsor for the ACT Invitational during the fall NASCAR weekend.

The Bond Auto Parts ACT Invitational will be part of “The Magic Mile’s” short track Saturday Showdown during the SYLVANIA 300 weekend. The thrilling day features, NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East New Hampshire 100 and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour F.W. Webb 100. Last year, it was Rowley, Mass. native Eddie MacDonald who raced his way from 25th to first in just a few laps, capturing the checkered flag.

Calling All Singers: Speedway Star Competition Back for a Second Year

LOUDON, N.H. (Feb. 9, 2012) -New Hampshire Motor Speedway is asking all New England area singers to tap into their inner Kelly Clarkson and belt out the national anthem during the third annual FANtasy Drive celebration on April 7.

If you think you have what it takes, submit a DVD, CD, Wav file or MP3 file of you singing “The Star Spangled Banner” a cappella style (without music or other accompaniments) to “The Magic Mile,” beginning Friday, Feb. 10.

NHMS Ticket Sales Soaring in 2012: Surge in Sales for NASCAR Races Sign of Economic Recovery

LOUDON, N.H. (January 23, 2012) – The new year is off to a fast start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. As the deadline for season ticket renewals closed, “The Magic Mile” has seen a spike in sales from 2011 for both the July and September NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in 2012.

“We haven’t seen this level of sales activity this early in quite some time. We are up an average of double digits between the two races,” explains Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. “Our fans and our families have been struggling for quite a while in this economy. I take this as a sign that the recovery is underway.”
