Lee, NH – The Benson Lumber and Hardware sponsored NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Small Block Supermodifieds took center stage at Lee USA Speedway Friday night, running twin 25-lap feature events with the best combined finish determining the overall winner for the night.
Second-generation racer Mike Ordway, Jr. claimed the win in the first segment, making his first visit to the winner’s circle this year. Wayne Helliwell, Jr. scored runner-up and finished the night out with a win the second race to score the Summer Shootout victory. (more…)
OXFORD, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished third in the 38th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, July 24. Theriault, 17 and entering his senior year at Fort Kent High School, started 11th in the 38-car field after qualifying for the first time for the marquee midsummer event. He used pit strategy to work his way into the Top-5 by Lap 187, and he was sitting third on a late restart with 16 laps remaining – first challenging Nick Sweet for second-place and then holding off a hard-charging two-time champion of the event, Eddie MacDonald, to post the podium finish. OXFORD, Maine – Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., did not qualify for the 38th TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, July 24. Dragon, who was spun in his heat race, finished one position short of a qualifying spot in the his last-chance qualifying race. It marks the first time that Dragon failed to qualify for the midsummer event. He finished fourth in 2010 and won the pole for the race in 2009. (more…)

OXFORD, Maine – Scott Mulkern of Falmouth, Maine, finished 11th in the PASS North Series’ return to Oxford Plains Speedway, the Brackett Mechanical 150 on Saturday, July 23. After needing to qualify through the consi to start 27th in the main event, Mulkern moved up a full 16 spots without the aid of a caution flag over the first half of the race. But Mulkern, making just his third start of the season, fought a tight-handling race car over the final 50 laps and settled for the solid 11th-place finish. (more…)
