Winning the final race of the season is always the sweetest and Eddie MacDonald did just that with a dominant performance in the American Canadian Tour’s 75 lap feature at Thompson Motor Sports Park Sunoco World Series of Racing Saturday night. The victory was especially sweet after a disappointing 11th place finish in the Pro Stock feature on Friday night.

Saturday’s ACT Late Model practice was reduced to one half hour due to morning rain but the EXIT Realty/Hancock Electric Chevy ran in the top three and posted a +3 rating in the heat. Eddie Mac started fifth then raced to a second place finish to receive the fifth starting position for the season finale on the fast, high-banked 5/8th of a mile oval.

THOMPSON, Conn. – In just his first start of the season on the Granite State Pro Stock Series, Derek Ramstrom proved to be the dominant driver in Friday’s 60-lap feature at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

After winning his heat race, Ramstrom had to start eighth because of an invert, but he didn’t let that stop his run to the checkered flag. The driver of the No. 35 quickly worked his way to the front of the pack and took the lead for the final time on a lap 31 restart. The race went from there to the checkered under green flag conditions and Ramstrom was never challenged.

Eddie MacDonald piloted the EXIT Realty/Hancock Electric Late Model Chevy to a third place finish in the DAV Fall Classic at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, then raced to a determined seventh place run in the EXIT Realty/Grimm Construction Pro Stock Chevy in the final feature of the night. The team then headed to Eddie Mac’s family track, Lee USA Speedway for Sunday’s Pro Stock feature in the annual Oktoberfest to close out the racing season at the Lee, N.H. facility.

Eddie Mac started third in the first of three pro stock 12 lap heats to score a third place finish placing him in the seventh slot in the feature. Eddie Mac drew the fourth slot in the third late model 12 lap heat then spent the rest of the time stuck on the outside with the preferred lane on the bottom to finish fifth.
