Canaan, NH. – (January 11, 2011) – Valenti Modified Racing Series officials have announced their intent to create a new series for pro-stock racers scheduled to begin competition during the 2011 racing season.
The proposed tour has been named Granite State Pro-Stock Series.
The joint announcement was made by VMRS president and founder Jack Bateman, Series Director John Hoyt, and longtime area pro-stock racer Mike Parks. (more…)
BURLINGTON, VT – The Vermont Motorsports Magazine website (www.vtmotormag.com) has announced the nominations for its second annual “Driver of the Year” awards. The fan-voted awards will recognize stock car drivers from Vermont or racing in Vermont for their efforts during the 2010 season across ten categories.
A diverse group of sixty-two drivers from asphalt, dirt, full-fender, and open-wheel disciplines make up the ballot. (more…)
Ben Ashline, of Pittston, ME likes to go fast, especially driving the #15 DS Norton Construction late model. Which has been tearing up the track at Oxford Plains Speedway and in the American Canadian Tour. Ben had an up and down 2010 season with some big wins and some big wrecks.

Ben. Right now, our plans are to run oxford plains speedway for points. Our goal is the championship. We are going to try to make an attempt to qualify for four American Canadian tour races if our budget permits it at that time, We are going to attempt to qualify for the td bank 250, and we are hoping to get an invite to the invitational race at Loudon. January 7th, 2011 – MaineRacing.Com Launches their new website at the Northeast Motorsports Expo. The site has a cleaner look, loads pages faster. The new site provides support for rich media such as video, and other new features. The site will allow for tracks and other media sources to publish press releases directly to MaineRacing.Com.
A lot of effort went into converting the news from the old site to the new updated site. Searching for past news stories will be faster and provide for more searching options. The forum remains unchanged since the last update. (more…)
LEE, NH – The Lee USA Speedway announced plans and changes for the 2011 season at a general meeting for the track held in Rochester, New Hampshire on December 4th. The changes were met with a very positive response from the 78 race teams that were represented.
Highest on the list of changes discussed for next season was the change to a four division format. The Late Models and Road Runners will no longer compete at the track, allowing a purse increase for the remaining divisions.
