The NEMST rolled into Maine’s center of speed Wiscasset Raceway in Wiscasset, Maine Saturday night with the largest field of the season. 26 cars signed up to run with the NEMST for the first race of the TRi-SPORTS Triple Crown Series. For the first time 3 heat races were required to run all of the cars that showed up.

The NEMST is invading Wiscasset Raceway this Saturday July 11th for a 50 lap feature. The race is Sponsored by TRi-SPORTS of Topsham, Maine and is the first race of the TRi-SPORTS Triple Crown Series. The trend of the NEMST so far has been with home track advantage so can tour regular Tim Collins cross the finish line first at his home track of Wiscasset or will it be Wiscasset Mini Stock regulars Kevin Douglass or Pete McCollett.

The 2009 North East Mini Stock Tour is announcing the addition of a triple crown series for the final three points races of the season. TRi-SPORTS of Topsham, Maine has signed up to sponsor a bonus to the top 3 point winners in the following three races. TRi-SPORTS is the best place around to find the all the on and off road toys anyone could desire.

Despite some early afternoon rain showers and minor delays we got our fourth race of the year in on Saturday. We had a good turnout of drivers from all over the northeast, with 13 making the trip to southern New Hampshire. The race length was shortened to 30 laps due to weather in the area but that didn’t shorten the excitement at all.

The forecasted bad weather held off for a very exciting NEMST race at Speedway 95, with Justin Trombley taking the win at the track he used to race weekly. Trombley and Cayer both won their heat races but had to start in the back with the tour’s handicapping system. Seventeen cars showed up to race with only 14 taking the green flag in the feature event.

Lee, NH – NASCAR Sprint Cup star Ryan Newman jumped behind the wheel of a
Tim Bertrand-owned NEMA Midget for the 25-lap feature event last Friday
night, and "The Rocketman" didn't disappoint the many fans who came to watch
him race.
