Barre, Vt. – Hometown driver Jason Corliss scored his third Thunder Road Late Model win of the season in dramatic fashion at Jet Service Envelope/Accura Printing Night on Thursday, August 24. The number-thee point driver fended off fellow Barre competitor Cody Blake and South Burlington’s Trampas Demers in a three-car thriller to take his seventh career Late Model victory in the Thursday night finale.
Corliss appeared to have the race in hand after getting the jump on Milton’s Eric Chase following the second and final restart on lap-29 of the 50-lap event and pulling out to a big advantage. But Blake reeled him in after getting around Chase and began looking to Corliss’ outside in the closing laps.

LEE, N.H. — The Lance Davis Memorial Sportsman Late Model 50-lap feature race highlights this Friday night’s 13-race program here at Lee USA Speedway.
A hot 2017 point championship battle sets the stage for the Davis Memorial event which began in 2003 after the sportsman driver died at 42 from a heart attack.
Bryan Kruczek, driving the Brian House No.88 from Haverhill, leads the current point standings with 555 but Frankie Eldredge, of Stratham, N.H., trails by just five points. Kris Miller, Bedford, N.H., is third only eight points off the lead. Jay Sands, Hampton, N.H. is fourth with 537 and Jimmy Russell, Exeter, N.H., rounds out the top five at 524.
Along with prize money, the top 10 finishers in the Davis Memorial also will win special trophies donated by Luc Tanguay who raced with Davis for years.
The Ironman Division will run two 25-lap feature races as part of Friday’s full program. Hobby Stocks will have a 25-lap main event while
the super-modifieds will run a 30-lap feature. All divisions will run 10-lap qualifying heats.
Dave Helliwell, of Salem, N.H., leads the super-modified point standings in the Witkum Brothers No.21 with 498. Leslie Keyser, fresh off his 40-lap $4,000 win in the “Super Shootout”, is second with 457 while John Burke, of” Derry, N.H., is third in his new winged No.01 super-mod. Others in Friday night’s super-modified lineup include Mike Keddy, of Raymond, N.H.,
Moe Lattime, in the Dick Osborne No.59 from Kingston, N.H., and Haverhill’s Tommy Tombarello.
Fans also will have a chance to race with their own cars on Friday. The “Spectator Drags” allow spectators to compete in two-lap events with the final race being five laps to the checkered flag. Fans must~Bse approved
safety helmets and seatbelts.
The first Ironman feature opens Friday’s program at 7 p.m.

WALPOLE, N.H. – For the first time in the history of the Granite State Pro Stock Series, the drivers are heading for Oxford Plains Speedway on Oxford 250 weekend.
The GSPSS drivers will compete in a 100-lap feature on Saturday night, which is the night before the prestigious 44th annual Scott’s Recreation Oxford 250. The event will allow some of the drivers planning to run the 250 a chance to compete with the regulars of the GSPSS. The hope is that drivers who compete learn something heading for Sunday’s prestigious event.

Danville’s Tyler Cahoon celebrates his first Thunder Road Late Model feature win of the season at U.S. Army Recruiting Night on Thursday, August 17.
Barre, Vt. – Danville’s Tyler Cahoon dove inside Barre’s Boomer Morris with nine laps remaining and went on to his first Thunder Road Late Model feature win of the season at U.S. Army Recruiting Night on Thursday, August 17. It was the third straight podium finish for the veteran driver as he continued his resurgence after a tough first half of the year.
Cahoon started fifth and first got to the inside of Morris on lap 27, but the pass was nullified by a backstretch crash involving Eric Chase and Ricky Roberts. Cahoon fell into a battle with Barre’s Cody Blake on the ensuing restart as early leader Morris inched away.

LEE, N.H. — Hobby Stocks and Ironmen Stocks will run double feature races while Super-Modifieds and Late Model Sportsmen will have 30-lap main events highlighting this Friday night’s action here at Lee USA Speedway.
The father-son team of Boe and Ryan Green of Berwick, Maine, are among the favorites in the two 25-lap hobby stock feature races along with Jimmy Renfrew Jr, of Candia, NH, and Pelham’s Paul Palen. Torrey Kovalesky, of Atkinson, NH, Patrick Tanguay, Lebanon, ME, and Kevin Aberle, Wilmington, MA, also are in the mix of top contenders.

Barre, Vt. – Barre’s Thunder Road nears the zenith of its weekly racing season this Thursday, August 17 with U.S. Army Recruiting Night. The second-to-last Thursday night date on the calendar features a full card of action for the Thunder Road Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, and Allen Lumber Street Stocks as they draw closer to crowning the 2017 track champions.
Hinesburg’s Bobby Therrien continues to lead the Late Model ranks, currently holding a 21-point edge over South Burlington’s Trampas Demers with just three point-counting events remaining. Should he remain on top at season’s end, Therrien would become the first driver in modern Thunder Road history to hold titles in three different divisions. He previously won the 2007 Street Stock and 2012 Flying Tiger championships.
