Lee, NH – Veteran racer Moe Lattime of Kingston went flag-to-flag on Friday night in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Supermodified feature at Lee USA Speedway, outrunning the field to score his first main event win of the 2016 campaign aboard the Dick Osborne entry.

Lattime had set the tone earlier in the night with an impressive win in his qualifying heat, and he kept the pressure on in the main, outrunning several 2016 feature winners to make his first trip to victory lane this season, making it five winners in six races since opening night in the EKeys4cars-sponsored 30-lapper.

Another longtime veteran, Jim Lowrey, Jr. of Tilton scored his best finish of the 2016 campaign in the runner-up slot, bringing the Witkum Brothers Racing entry home with its best result of the season. Second-generation racer and Rookie of the Year contender “Hollywood” Dave Helliwell rounded out the podium after a strong third place run.

CHARLOTTE, NC (June 27) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials, along with representatives of East Carolina Motor Speedway, announced today that the PASS South Super Late Model event scheduled for Saturday, July 30 has been cancelled.  After long deliberation, PASS and East Carolina Motor Speedway officials have agreed, for the health of Super Late Model racing in the Carolinas as a whole, it is best to move ahead and look towards the future.  While the East Carolina event was announced last November, two months prior to the release of any other schedules, both parties have agreed that this is the right decision.  PASS South will be back in action again for 150 laps on Saturday, August 13 at South Boston Speedway, while East Carolina Motor Speedway will continue with a full slate of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing on July 30.

“We felt that it was in everybody’s interest to go ahead and remove this event from the schedule so everyone can focus and plan for the remaining races in 2016,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry.  “The folks at East Carolina have been great to work with and it’s unfortunate that we will not be able to go there due to actions out of our control.  We wish East Carolina nothing but success and hope to work with them again in the near future.”

Barre, VT – Kyle Pembroke of Montpelier claimed the third Triple Crown of the season in three regular-season events on Harvest Equipment Night on Sunday afternoon, sweeping his heat race, the semifeature, and the 50-lap Thunder Road Late Models feature.

Pembroke survived a collision with Eric Chase of Milton on his way to the victory. The two cars collided on the backstretch after the third caution flag of the race was thrown on lap 40. Since the wreck didn’t cause the yellow flag, Pembroke was allowed to reclaim his second-place position in the field. He moved past Darrell Morin of Westford on the ensuing restart and stayed in front for the rest of the event.

Rounding out the top ten were Nick Sweet of Barre, Morin, Phil Scott of Middlesex, Eric Badore of Milton, Jason Corliss of Barre, John Donahue of Graniteville, Shawn Fleury of Middlesex, and Josh Masterson of Charlotte. Badore and Sweet also claimed Maplewood Stores Triple Crowns in the first two regular-season Late Model events at Thunder Road.
