Lee USA Speedway 7/24/15 Race Report

leeLee, NH – The cars and stars of the Granite State Pro Stock Series were the added attraction at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, while the Supermodifieds had the night off, and NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Sportsman, Hobby Stock, Ironman, and Pure Stock feature events rounded out the program at “New Hampshire‘s Center of Speed“.

Three rounds of qualifying action set the field for the Seacoast 100 for the GSPSS, with one local favorite, Bobby Cabral, sidelined as a result of a hard hit during his heat race. Cabral caught a wheel from another competitor on the first lap of his heat, and drilled the wall in turn two to end his night before it even got started. (more…)

Granite State Pro Stock Series at Lee USA Speedway: A Closer Look at the Numbers

GSPS2LEE, NH – The Granite State Pro Stock Series will travel to Lee USA Speedway, on July 24, for the Seacoast 100.  The Seacoast 100 will be the seventh event of the 12-race season, and will be the second time the Granite State Pro Stock Series has visited the facility since the series’ inception.  The following is a closer look at the numbers of the Granite State Pro Stock Series (GSPSS), and Lee USA Speedway.

 

LEE USA SPEEDWAY NOTES:

–              Bob Bonser first opened Lee Raceway in 1964.  The track was a 1/3 mile dirt tri-oval, and had two different elevation changes, uphill and downhill.

ACT Tour Resumes Championship Chase at Oxford Plains

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) resumes its 2015 championship chase this Saturday, July 25 at Oxford, ME’s Oxford Plains Speedway. The Oxford Plains 150 is the eighth on the ACT Tour’s 13-race schedule and their second visit of the season to the 3/8-mile oval. The event was previously scheduled for June 27 before being postponed.

 

The second half of the year will see the continued championship battle between New Hampshire veterans Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Joey Polewarczyk Jr. Two-time ACT Tour Champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. holds a 17-point lead over defending Champion “Joey Pole” with each driver recording three wins to date.

Times Argus Mid-Season Championships Could Make or Break Thunder Road Title Hopes

Barre, VT – One of the most important events of the Thunder Road season goes to post this Thursday, July 23 at 6:30pm with the annual Times Argus Mid-Season Championships. Double points are on the line in all events for the Thunder Road Late Models, Bond Auto Tiger Sportsmen, and Allen Lumber Stocks, which means championship aspirations will be reaffirmed, re-inspired, or even crumble away by the time the final checkered flag flies.

 

The annual mid-summer event includes extra-distance features for all divisions, with the Thunder Road Late Models going 75 laps instead of their normal 50. It’s a prime opportunity for a top contender to establish themselves at the top of the standings as three of the last six Mid-Season Champions in the Late Models went on to win the season-long title. Conversely, a poor performance can leave a driver spending the second half of the season scrambling to make up ground. (more…)

Derek Griffith, Granite State Pro Stock Series Returns to Lee USA Speedway

LEE, NH – The Granite State Pro Stock Series will return to Lee USA Speedway (NH), on July 24, for the Seacoast 100.

 

The Seacoast 100 will be the seventh race of the Granite State Pro Stock Series’ (GSPSS) season, and marks the second time running at the Lee, NH 3/8-mile facility.

 

Point-leader Derek Griffith is excited to return to the track where he picked up his first pro stock win.  Griffith won the Pro Stock version of the season-ending Oktoberfest at Lee USA Speedway in 2012.
