This weekend, Unity Raceway prepares for another exciting Sunday of competition. Having four different winners in four Late Model Races, with last week being a first career win in the division. Kris Matchett was victorious, picking up his first win in his second full season of Late Models. Since making the jump, he’s raced the car at Wiscassett and Speedway 95 as well as Unity, and was glad that the win came at his home track that started it all. McLaughlin Wins Best Seat in the House for the Long John 115 October 11th
Andrew McLaughlin made it 2 for 2 September 13th, winning both Late Model races he attended this season, and the most important one last Sunday that will sit him on the pole for the start of the Long John 115 on October 11th. He has been dynamite all season, winning races at Speedway 95, Wiscasset, and Unity. This win also will get him featured on the cover of the 2015 Long John Souvenir Program and T-Shirts. He started 4th in the heat, and made his way to 2nd with Frank Moulton picking up the win to set the front row of the feature. McLaughlin jumped out front immediately and led every lap to pick up $250 in lap money, and $550 for the win. read more…

DJ Moody has one Outlaw win this season, and it came at Unity Raceway in June. Now going into the second visit for 2015 this Sunday, he’s feeling pretty confident once again. He rented the track a week ago and wasn’t happy with his first run of the day, but he continued to tweak the new setup he was trying and by the end of his practices, had the car just how he wanted. “We wanted to rent the track because we were trying something new, and it’s definitely feeling really good …now, that I think we have a great shot at this next Unity race in the series.”

A new race season and a new racing adventure as 2011 Amsoil NELCAR Legends Champion, Evan Beaulieu, changes gears and get behind the wheel of a super late model. “This season we will be racing the 56 Super Late Model at BRMS in the Pro Series for Dan McKeage and the Naughty40 Racing team. This will be my first time driving in a full size car with fenders, and I’m looking forward to the challenge and I know we can succeed in this division just as we have in anything we’ve done.”
