Lee, NH – Lee USA Speedway kicked off the 2017 racing season on Sunday afternoon with the traditional season-opening American Canadian Tour (ACT) New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150. A strong field of entries was on hand for the day’s racing action, but none was stronger than Connecticut racer “Thrillin’ Dillon” Moltz, who took down the win in dominating fashion.
2013 Governor‘s Cup winner Jimmy Hebert of Williamstown VT led the early laps of the main, but Quebec driver Jonathan Bouvrette slipped past just after the ten lap mark to take over the point. At the 50 lap mark, Moltz was past Hebert to move into second, and just six laps later, he made his way past Bouvrette to the lead.

Waterbury, VT – The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) is set to open its 26th season of ACT Late Model racing, and its 34th season of late model racing at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, April 23 with the annual New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150, which was postponed due to weather from its originally scheduled early April date. As in years past, the 2017 opener will give teams and fans a preview of competitors to watch during the coming race season.
The fast 1/3 mile at Lee has always offered an exciting kick-off to the season, with the previous 14 ACT Late Model Tour events serving up 13 different winners, with the back-to-back wins of multi-time Series Champion Brian Hoar in 2011 and 2012 standing as the only repeat winner. In 2016, Scott Payea, driving for the familiar RPM team (which was part of the Brian Hoar successes), stood on top of the podium after a hiatus of several years from racing.

Eddie MacDonald posted third place finishes in the Pro Stock/ Super Late Model and Late Model features to complete the rescheduled Oktoberfest at his family owned track on Sunday, Oct.24. Due to heavy rain on the second of two days of racing two weeks ago, the Sunday event was completed to end the Lee USA season on a chilly blustery day.
The “Outlaw” piloted the Dave Lemieux owned PS/SLM Chevy to a solid third place finish in fifty lap feature. Eddie Mac drove the famous Flame #17 GTO to a third place finish in the 40 lap Late Model race.
“We are very pleased to have EXIT Realty Beatrice Associates with us on the Pro Stock as well as the Late Model,” said Eddie Mac. “Derek Beatrice has been a strong supporter of our racing program and even sponsored the Oktoberfest weekend at the track and our team and family appreciate everything he has done. EXIT Realty will again be on both cars next weekend at Seekonk Speedway and we look forward to even better finishes. We were a little off today but know we can improve to finish off our season with solid runs.”
