Street Stock Disqualified after Mini-Milk Bowl

Waterbury, VT – The 2012 Thunder Road Track Champion, Nick Pilotte, from Jefferson, NH was disqualified from the People’s United Bank ‘Mini-Milk Bowl’ after an engine teardown unveiled an illegal engine, according to the 2013 ACT rules for the Street Stock division. The violation was a mismatched set of pistons and heads.

During the same teardown inspection, Groveton, New Hampshire’s Jason Kenison was awarded the win. “We will have to examine the rulebook for 2014 as it relates to the Nissan 240SX,” said Dean Gallison, the ACT Director of Competition.

Third place finisher Tommy “Thunder” Smith from Williamstown, VT was torn down for the second time in the past couple of months and again was within the specs of the rulebook for the division. Smith was awarded second place following the disqualification.

Ryan Robbins Sets Sights On Title At Oxford Plains

Sophomore Street Stock Driver Looks To Go Out On Top

SOUTH PARIS, Maine – Two weeks ago, Ryan Robbins won his first feature event of the season. On Sunday afternoon, the sophomore driver from Dixfield hopes to lock up the first Street Stock division championship of his career.

Robbins, 28, has a 17-point lead heading into the final race of the season at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine. Racing begins at 2 p.m.

“It’s funny, because I’m a pretty low-key person, even when it comes to the racing,” Robbins said. “We go to the track, we race, we come home. I try not to get all worked up about it. Even when we win, you just try to think about the next week. But when it gets to this point, you get pretty excited about it. We could go out on Sunday and win this championship.
