Actor, musician, and new author Rusty DeWees of Elmore will hold a book signing at Barre&rsquo;s Thunder Road as part of the Fisher\/Federated Auto Parts stock car racing program on Tuesday, August 28. &nbsp;No stranger to Thunder Road, DeWees &ndash; perhaps more commonly known by his stage name &ldquo;The Logger&rdquo; &ndash; will autograph copies of his soon-to-be-released book, Scrawlins. &nbsp;During the early years of his wildly popular one-man show named after his character, DeWees was a weekly competitor in Thunder Road&rsquo;s Allen Lumber Street Stock division.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;You better get it, you might be in it, or at least know someone in it,&rdquo; said DeWees of Scrawlins. &nbsp;&ldquo;I<br \/>figured Thunder Road might be a good place to unveil the new book because there&rsquo;s lots of people there that at least know someone in it.&rdquo;<br \/>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Scrawlins is a collection of 94 short stories written by DeWees about topics like why there&rsquo;s an &ldquo;i&rdquo;<br \/>in &ldquo;iPod,&rdquo; Vermonters and their thoughts on global warming, and the time DeWees was surprised to find a snake hampering his weed-whacking duties around the house.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;The book isn&rsquo;t necessarily written from the point of view of my character, &lsquo;The Logger,&rsquo;&rdquo; DeWees<br \/>says, &ldquo;but it&rsquo;s got a bunch of Loggery-type stories. &nbsp;Some are true, some aren&rsquo;t. &nbsp;Some are funny, and some are a little sad. &nbsp;It&rsquo;s just a myriad of things that I wanted to write down.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Scrawlins will be available in stores in mid-September. &nbsp;To read reviews and order a copy of Scrawlins, or to check out everything else you could ever want to know or buy about the ol&rsquo; appearance at Thunder Road is just part of the excitement surrounding Fisher\/Federated Auto Parts Night. &nbsp;American-Canadian Tour Late Model drivers Jamie Fisher of Shelburne, Dave Pembroke of Montpelier, and Cris Michaud of Williamstown are in the midst of the tightest three-way &ldquo;King of the Road&rdquo;
