LOUDON, N.H. \u2013 No longer scheduled in the doldrums of a rainy, cool May, the 23rd annual Vintage Racing Celebration returns to the Magic Mile this week for six days of hot, intense on-track action. The midsummer classic, which has added two more days from its 2012 schedule, will run from Tuesday, July 30 through Sunday, Aug. 4<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is New Hampshire Motor Speedway\u2019s opportunity to make history come alive once again as it brings back vehicles that, while they may be old in appearance and date, still offer excitement and entertainment when it comes to on-track racing. The Vintage Racing Celebration includes oval and road course track days; the Classic & Custom Car Show; and, for the very first time, Hot Import Nights, an auto show featuring compact and tuner import cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe one thing that jumps out at you right away is the assortment of automobiles,\u201d said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. \u201cOur fans have the chance to see the likes of vehicles that christened racetracks not only across our country, but all over the world. Add in our classic and custom car show and Hot Import Nights, and there really is something for everyone at an event like this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vintage Racing Celebration will begin with three Oval Days (July 30-Aug. 1<\/span><\/span>), which will feature track sessions with vintage midget, modified, sprint, Indy and stock cars. The oval event offers an extraordinary opportunity for fans to see intense side-by-side racing between a diverse docket of automobiles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Road Course Days will run more formalized races from (Aug. 2-Aug. 4<\/span><\/span>) and will feature car races from the Vintage Racing Group as well as motorcycle races from the U.S. Classic Racing Association.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Classic & Custom Car Show will be combined into the weekend. Car owners will bring their cars on Saturday,Aug. 3 to compete in several different categories, including the coveted Best in Show prize. The show will go from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Additionally, Hot Import Nights will be at the track on Saturday,Aug. 3 from 1-10 p.m. The show will feature drifting demonstrations and a tuner car display. HIN is based out of southern California’s Orange County with a network of associates nationwide as well as in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adult tickets for the entire six-day event are $10 for daily admission. Children 12 to 16 years of age are $5 per day and those 11 years old and under are free. Camping is $25. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.<\/span><\/p>\n
